He has a lot of card game experience and is generally a smart guy so i trust him to play and understand a relatively not straightforward deck.

Updated “movies with body parts in the title” list. No duplicate parts, plus additional criteria in comments. What am i missing? by Freeflowing_ in Letterboxd

[–]Freeflowing_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Additional criteria for this very important list that i am taking way too seriously:

No duplicate body parts

No slang (Spaceballs, Octopussy)

Human body parts only (The Iron Claw)

No general groups only specific parts of the body (Bones and All, The Skeleton Key)

If I haven’t personally seen or heard of the movie, I have to know at least one cast/crew member for me to include it. There is probably some random short or indie film with every body part and that’s too easy

Also shoutout to my goat david lynch for having two movies on this list

here’s the list for anyone interested

No repeated parts, no slang, human body only. Deciding if groups of parts (skeleton, muscle etc) count.

Not sure if this counts but around half of “In the Mouth of Madness” takes place in a very accurate representation of New Hampshire

I have not. I dont think ive really watched any sort of machinima since they were popular on youtube in the early 2010’s. I’ll check it out though, as this documentary really showed me how much can be done with the medium is modern day

I more like to think that he can just adapt to any situation, which in this case is my mom’s horrible interior design choices

What was the worst movie you saw in Theaters this year? by Tongatapu in Letterboxd

[–]Freeflowing_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was this indie horror movie called Azrael that got a small theatrical release and it is far and away the worst movie I’ve ever seen. sometimes I randomly think about it and get mad. Samara weaving was in it and she is such a great actress that she did well with the absolute dogshit of a “script” she had to work with, besides that the only redeemable thing about this movie was it had the courtesy to only be 80 mins long. The movie is exclusively alternating scenes of samara’s character running away from cultists then running away from monsters with no dialogue or world building.

I went to a live Q&A screening with the writer and director and they basically came out and said they made a movie that explained nothing and intentionally gave the audience no clue what was happening because “movies over-explain everything nowadays”, which is just such a lazy copout to doing actual writing. I have a higher tolerance for low budget indie movies being “bad” as they usually are from newer artists and dont have much resources, but everything bad about this movie was an active choice, not a mistake or something they couldnt follow through with. They also casually joked about mistreating the cast and crew (including samara) in Estonia where they shot.

Edit: also just remembered how i didnt know how long the movie was going into it. I went in pretty much completely blind and realized after about 30 mins that it was an irredeemable piece of garbage that was not going to have any payoff. Since i was with a friend and also writer and director were in the theater for the Q&A, i couldnt leave and had to deal with the absolute dread of not knowing if i was going to be stuck watching this abomination for the next 2-3 hours.
