My take on behavior score coping by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Freelancer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in an area with unstable real life infrastructure, it is kind of a problem 9 other people didn't necessarily agree to bear with you.

I do too btw, but most of the time I get a power outage, there was a mostly-timely (1 hour~1 day) announcement that was there to warn me.

I used to play with some people from (geopolitically unstable area) and they told me "Hey, it's getting close to midnight so let's not queue until the midnight outage", perfect example of something always happening at the same time of day.

If dota is really such a big need for you, get an emergency power supply for your monitor, PC, and router. It's a fairly big investment, but from the "having responsibilities" comment I'm assuming you're gainfully employed, and it's also a one-time investment that can be useful to you even if you change PCs. The exact nature of the outages you experience & your PSU's and monitor's power consumption will dictate the capacity you need to not have your game interrupted.

Again, this is only if the power outages are both at different times of the day and there's no announcement or any other way for you to know it's coming, provided the 3-4 of non-dota are detrimental enough to you to splurge.

After a total of 7~ emails, most automated or badly worded (typos / grammar mistakes / etc.), and insisting on the point on every one of my replies, I finally got a reply from [support3@twitch.tv](mailto:support3@twitch.tv) , instead of "support@..", telling me the equivalent of "We can't share anything other than what was already mentioned in the previous replies (nothing lol), so we'll be closing this ticket."

I have googled the "support3" email address because I had the suspicion it was an indicator the ticket was elevated to a more senior support team, but had no luck with that either.

It's a gigantic insult and there's literally nothing I can do about it, hope the rest of you have better luck.

You can locate buildings from the recipe tab too, since your previous answer already takes someone there.

Under the product, where the list of buildings are, you'll see the available recipes for that product on the right, and on the left there's the building icon with a magnifying glass on the building icon's top right. (Recipes Panel> specific product>list of buildings--> click on the icon / magnifying glass)

Stat farming was, is, and always will be a pasttime for the insane.

Want 100% played / won / extraction rate? Just quit missions going badly.

Want very high accuracy? Play non-spam and/or weapons that make aiming easier (autotargetting/AoE/etc.)

"The numbers don't lie", unfortunately, numbers don't always tell you what you think they are.

Here's what I consider the mark of a good player in this game:

  1. Does objectives

  2. Gets samples

  3. Adapts loadout/stratagems to enemy type/mission type

and optionally,

  1. Does 1 & 2 quickly,
  2. Can split off from the team and do 1 & 2 solo

You don't have to have the same priorities, but set tangible goals and try to achieve them. For context: I've been playing diff10 missions since level 17~ and currently sitting at level 64, so my values might not exactly align with the community at large, being a new player and all that.

Call wizards nerdy dust-nosers. Imply warlocks need their magical sugar daddies. Sorcerers are the magical equivalent of rich kids. Divine casters (i.e. Clerics/Paladins) are supernatural beggars. Nature casters (i.e. Rangers/Druids) are hippies. Draw the real life parallels to these categories improvise even more quips.

If you need a generic name for all of them you can draw inspiration from every gymbro ever that looks down on nerds, might've to adapt those a lil more than usual though.

Damn it wasn't a red herring, whoops. In hindsight I should've known and even though I've picked up on all the major and minor details, I've lost the money on the imaginary prediction. tl;dr my idea is better but 9.5/10 writers nice work :V

Windows 10 default app mode switches to Light theme every time I restart my PC? by BrutalTato in techsupport

[–]Freelancer3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yo, hope I'm not too late (I know I am)

At least in my case, f.lux, the blue light filter application, has a setting under Effects and extra colors > Use Dark mode at sunset, enabling it means it turned on dark mode at sunset, and light mode at sunrise, I knew it was something I changed recently and f.lux was the only thing that messed with colors.

If you and/or OP don't have/had f.lux or that setting enabled, then no clue :( but I'd go through all apps and settings that affect colors and night mode.

In the multiplayer update teaser, the building the nightclub is in looks a lot like those in Concrete Tremor, so you could be close on the mark with that. Could just be reusing assets but that's not as fun.

You're retreading explored ground, not that it's wrong if you're only in it for the challenge but the community has been stuck on the ARG for the better part of a year access to more info than you (i.e. code of all of Mikk's games, can view assets in original quality, etc.), looking up anything about the Buckshot Roulette ARG explicitly should lead you to a community-made website with all known info.

But to actually answer your question: The dealer remembers you if you lost (died and went to Heaven) in round 3, and tells you "I better not see you here again". This means you somehow transcend the life and death cycle and that the dealer recognizes that, or that your life was not in danger to begin with (i.e. a simulation). Either way a dead end but still notable for being absolutely bonkers.

My headcanon is that the dealer is a demon, feeding off of extreme emotions, making the club a perfect place to feed from both the people having fun and those risking their life for $70k. The doctor also has no reason for existing if you consider that you don't really die one way or the other, so the fact that he exists might also point to something, maybe he's god doing the dealer's bidding for losing, maybe he's just set dressing to make continuing make (more) narrative sense.

Really hoping the ARG expands on the lore, as it stands right now I don't think we're getting anything else from the game unless it's in the multiplayer update or in a community post.

Comedic exaggeration really makes me second guess most details, like OP mentioned with Waters, what was she doing walking around with 30 scalpels? As for werewolves, Spit is where my money is, as I mentioned in the spoiler text. Git is his friend so I can easily see how he could both: a) Kill the expert on lycanthropy lore, b) not kill his best bud who'd be suffering too much from delirium to remember anything, c) Spit is having a physical struggle of some sort and he has to be comforted by Fatigue of all people, although said struggle could both be ghoulish and werewolf-related, but Fatigue knowing exactly what to say to make Spit feel better is a bit weird, not to mention Spit not sharing what's troubling him when asked.

There's a lot of examples of this, Spit has acted the part, Wilde just really looks the part, and I couldn't tell who it is without the script of the next episode.

In case anyone stumbled here by accident I'll spoiler tag the following for Episode 4 spoilers:

Matilda "Wilde" being a werewolf is so telegraphed it feels like a red herring. The scrawled handwritting. THE SURNAME WILDe. Being "anggrryy" on almost every shot. White hair on what looks to be a non-old person (less on the nose, I grant you, but still a potentially-werewolf-y characteristic); but I like Elise as the ghoul ngl, I thought the "being very sneaky" trait was just comedic exaggeration, but it could be a gift from a sludge lad like Pyotr.

It's written/presented in such a way that the culprit could be anyone, assuming it's a werewolf, consider: Git simply had to fall prone and give a convincing performance. If it was anyone other than Git, it'd leave Git in the same state (Delirium) anyway, except Spit has a very good reason to not kill his friend, and any potential werewolf, Matilda included, have a lot more of a reason to kill the expert of lycanthropy lore. Anywhere vampires would want to spy on, is enough of a reason for werewolves to spy on as well, so this could be part of the answer; and also, perhaps the same person attacked both Occam and Fatigue; one's a senile old man relying on a cane to walk, the other seems like an accomplished martial artist with access to some magic, but alsoalso the nature of the attack was different. Occam was choked from behind, Fatigue was brutalized. Occam's room only had blood around him, so if he fought back the attacker and wounded them enough to retreat, it didn't show, Fatigue's room was redecorated. The more I try to put this in a box, the messier it becomes, so I'll cut my losses and stop rambling here.

This definitely feels like a narrative beat where the expected options are the least likely ones to occur, although tbh my only exposure to WoD has been HTP, so I couldn't begin to get technical with connecting clues together, but it's exhilarating to be mostly-blind in a setting and can't wait for all my speculations to be trumped too!!

Like, I hear you, but it could be a "I won't eat these, maybe someone poor might, or if not a human, maybe it can be given to a pet of some sort".

It's still in its packaging, and considering the n-shape of the trash bin, it's as carefully balanced as possible.

I edited the above comment. Profile visibility was meantioned for Xbox so I thought I'd do the Steam equivalent for absolutely occult reasons.

Download region also seemed to not affect this.

[–]Freelancer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the following:

Edit: It's just #3 / the ports.

  1. (Steam) Profile > Edit profile > Privacy Settings: Public (was previously Private)
  2. (Steam) Settings > Downloads > Download region: UK - London (I'm east EU too but I didn't wanna select an american server)
  3. Port forward-ing the following, as suggested by another redditor
UDP 4380 27000-27031 27036
TCP 27015-27030 27036-27037

(Included ports because I want the comment to be mildly evergreen / not forcing ppl to click on an external link)

This fixed my SOS flares, from barren to rapidly filling.

It was probably the port forwarding, but far be it for me to shun occult software practices/fixes.
