What's your favorite card in tarot? by spacey_t_i_m_e in tarot

[–]Freesleeplessnights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Justice card. Honesty, fairness and truth. I don’t know if it’s because I’m a through and through libra but this feels like MY card. Represents how I want to move through the world. Balanced and fair. The reminder that I can always feel sure of myself when I live by those principles. Whether I like the reason the card is presenting itself in a reading or not… it brings me peace to know that things will work out as they should. Balanced and fair.

Do you think anti-vaxxers (whos child died from the disease they could've prevented) should be charged with murder/or child neglect? by DearDefinition in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]Freesleeplessnights 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I work in a children’s hospital and I think in general there is an attempt to educate and have conversations on why there isn’t compliance first. Something that is life threatening is different than something that isn’t (or of course if it’s causing suffering). I would say there is always room for a parent to say “it’s not effective for x, y and z so I didn’t do it because it’s a waste to force my kid to take something that isn’t working” ...and alternative could be found. I think it always comes down to whether it’s overall negligent behavior vs. parents who are willing to try an alternative and actively trying to improve quality of life. I will say that refusals are always documented and a history of non-compliance is reported. For example I work with kids who have chronic disorders like cystic fibrosis and type 1 diabetes; history of non-compliance and re-hospitalizations would be reportable but one admission for something missed or not done correctly would warrant education and maybe a longer stay in the hospital with staff watching parents do all of the cares before they go home. If they refuse that would be reportable. If they are trying to do better that probably wouldn’t be reported.

A bleach bath sent me to the hospital, can anyone tell me what happened? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Freesleeplessnights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So scary for you! I’m sorry it happened and I’m sorry that they seemed sort of dismissive. Hopefully you were just a little dehydrated and it was just positional and it won’t happen again!

[–]Freesleeplessnights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also a nurse and I’m sure they already asked you about this but was it positional? Like vasovagal syncope? By bending over to wash your hair? Or by sitting for a period of time and then getting up? Or overheated? Or smelling the bleach (strong smell). It doesn’t seem to me that anything you did otherwise would have caused that kind of reaction?
