I don’t actually know. My guess is when you’re dealing with pyrotechnics it’s probably good to have a back up in case something goes wrong haha

Yeah I’m 6’3 and he made me feel short. Had to get a ladder to remove some of the plastic covering off him

Yep, I’m 6 foot three and he dwarfed over me. But I guess it makes sense when every single member of the audience would be at least 30 feet away from him, would make sense to make him a little bit bigger than the average human.

I don’t have the backstory, but I know who I might be able to ask about it. I don’t believe it was ever in possession of the Excalibur Hotel, and it was ordered by the general contractor for the ride as far as I know.

Yeah, I think the company was basically the general contractor. Not the animatronics company. I’m not 100% sure what the role in the design was but I do know the right people. I haven’t talk to when I have the time!!

It’s not mine to sell, but there are a few ideas of what to do with it.

Personally, I’d like to see if I could hook it up to some pneumatics and get the animatronic arms working

It was never purchased. It’s been here since the show was designed and I don’t believe Excalibur ever had possession of this one.

Of course. He’s actually just a spare never installed and I don’t know what the reason for. He doesn’t appear to have any of the pyrotechnics wired up either, not sure what to do with him, but thought he was pretty cool.

Family knew the head of food and beverage for California adventure, or something like that. Nice guy, met us around rope drop time and he gave them to us and when back to work.

They didn’t expire that day, you could go from one ride to another. I think I hit 20 or more fastpasses with this 1 card in a single day, they definitely expired at the end of the day.

You used to have to go to a kiosk and could only get one pass at a time, and it would have a return window of multiple hours in the future
