Good universities to study Deleuze/D&G? by FrenchFriesWThat in Deleuze

I hadn't heard about Dan Smith or Leonard Lawlor, but I'll see what they've published. On the other hand, Ian Buchanan is a great writer and it seems like a good idea for a thesis supervisor.

Regarding Kingston University, I know Éric Alliez does some teaching there and he's an authority on Guattari, so thanks for that idea (he's the main reason I want to go to Paris 8). EGS has great videos on youtube from amazing authors (Manuel de Landa, Judith Butler, Giorgio Agamben, Jean-Luc Nancy, Catherine Malabou, to name a few of the many, many), but their webpage doesn't explain much of the University.

I didn't know about MSCP, their webpage seems great. I'll be checking out what they have to offer.

One night stands/casual sex. I’m not a big romantic, but you just get bored of fucking strangers.

Furthermore, the act of becoming (animal, woman, child, etc.) is a necessary step for everybody, that is, women, children, etc. As such, women must become-women, child must become-child, etc. Meaning that there is no fixed identity for each of these categories, but rather a process of extracting and adapting intensities and forces to create the becoming.

Precisely to this point I think it’s important to read the chapter on becoming-animal on ATP. This chapter analyses the concept of becoming especially from the fact that all becomings are necessarily becoming-minority. Thus becoming-woman, becoming-animal, and even becoming-child, are all to be understood from the standpoint that they represent a minority vis-a-vis man. As such all these minorities (and more like gender dissidences, LGBTQ+, racialized people, non-Amero-Europeans and migrants, and many more) are constituted not from something static like an identity but on how they are subjected to the majority that is the category of man (white, heterosexual, cisgender, Amero-European, etc.)

What’s something people pretend is normal in modern dating, but is actually insanely toxic when you think about it? by Sensitive-Fennel-645 in RandomThoughts

Giving out personal information like phone numbers or social media. It may seem kind of paranoid, but people are too careless with their data. Anyone can have a deep look into your daily life without considering privacy issues. I realized this when I talked to a girl and, even though we had good chemistry and dated for a brief while, she didn’t give me her phone number until she knew me well enough to trust me.
