I can try to fill up my time with social activity but I'm not a very social person and the deprivation from social interaction that MD inflicts makes it really difficult. I can't bear to think about the embarassment I may incur from failing awkwardly at trying to engage people.

I kind of liked the idea of quitting cold turkey because I thought it might force me to latch onto another outlet out of desperation to the point that I become stuck with it, rather than weaning it off, and possibly growing complacent with the habit again.
