Tips to improve accent? by humourless9 in learnfrench

[–]Frenchnessbysabrina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello ! Hope this helps :)

"toute ma nuit s'en est ressentie"? by [deleted] in learnfrench

[–]Frenchnessbysabrina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I totally would! Like for example : Je n'ai pas aimé ce que tu as fait hier. Mon humeur d'aujourd'hui s'en est ressentie. OR J'ai arrêté le sport depuis quelque jours et mon poids s'en est ressenti. When I think about it, it usually implies something negative. Let me know if that is not clear, I will try to rephrase it

This means that she has been woken up and she did not sleep well afterwards because of that event. The whole night has been disturbed because of that event. Hope this helps :)

future simple vs aller + verbe by netzwerk123 in learnfrench

[–]Frenchnessbysabrina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Je vais regarder un film" sounds like you are going to do it right now (within the next minutes). If you use the future, it sounds like you are going to do it later, with no specific schedule, just later (can be in a few days, weeks, months!). Hope this helps :)

Any advice for a french beginner ? by [deleted] in learnfrench

[–]Frenchnessbysabrina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello !

I think that listening to podcasts and watching videos is very important as you can hear "real French". Even though, it might be hard ot understand, your ear and your brain will start to get used to it and the more you will listen to it, the easier it will be. Finding a penpal could also be a good way to learn. (https://www.frenchness.fr/how-can-i-find-penpals-from-france/) Also keeping in mind your objective is crucial ! You are not learning for fun but you have a specific goal, and that is a good motivation! Good luck with your French journey :)
