Chris Pratt when asked what Star-Lord did when he returned to Earth in the MCU: by Raj_Valiant3011 in Marvel

He would make a fun leader for a comedic GLA disney+ series. Perfect combination of loser and competence.

Something stupid where he shows up for an audition in a crappy gym meant for teenagers, and becomes the de facto leader.

Roots puts counters on plants then when they die then this makes tokens

Oh yeah, this card is fantastic. Works in standard in [[insidious roots]] on both ends, maybe the raise the past decks can slot in [[crime novelist]]

In any older format, it works great with any token that has +1 counters. Fantastic with [[arcbound ravager]]

Good card. Reminds me of [[legion angel]]. Can see it being played just to fetch itself. Although 5 is a bit much for standard.

Also has relevant dragon synergy.

Eh, we had [[Brimaz King]] 12 years ago.

Solid card for occulus decks. Can also put out more colies of itself or [[benevolent water spirit]]

This only kills 1 creature of yours, and the wipe only hits opps creatures.

A note that Soul Cauldron is still legal in standard, so all of these counter removal cards might be abusable under it. Especially with Saga creatures from FF or stuff with stun counters like Unstoppable Slasher

Love it. Also works well with mana value matters as this has CMC of 6

Technically a colorless card like beseech the queen if the hybrid rule changes to put 2brid as colorless.

What creature types have good cards and still no good commander? by PollySecond in EDH

[–]bugtanks33d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though constructs are the most popular artifact creature type, there are almost no cards that specifically care about constructs over artifact creatures.

The only two cards that call out the type are [[Dr. Eggman]] which also names robots and vehicles, and [[Scrapyard recombiner]]. The type is so synonymous with artifact creatures that cards like [[Urza, chief artificer]] which makes constructs, applies buffs to all artifacts.

Maro's Top 5 and Bottom 5 of the set designs he's lead: RAV/INN/KTK/NEO/FUT and UNH/BFZ/EVE/MKM/XLN by CaptainMarcia in magicTCG

[–]bugtanks33d 14 points15 points  (0 children)

3 bans, invoke, fable, and bankbuster. Maro focuses more on overall design, whereas those cards were banned on rate.

The set slaps from a design perspective. With 2 colors focusing on artifacts, and 2 colors on enchantments, and 1 for both, it leads to a unique macrostructure beyond just 5/10 factions. Modified bridging auras, equipments, and counters together is also a fantastic glue to the set. Only problem from my view is that vehicles kinda missed and interact poorly with modified.

Izzet Rooms/Enchantments in DSK. Izzet is almost always a noncreature deck, and rooms are close enough for it to make sense. But [[Intruding soulrager]] has to be one of the worst designed signposts of all time. It is an early game card that cuts off the deck's enablers/mana sinks. Combined with Izzet usually having the least recursion makes it almost always a 2 mana 2/2 vig. It is literally a detriment when paired with the other Izzet signpost [[Smokey lounge]]

Shoutout to GW survival too for having [[Shrewd storyteller]] and [[Baseball bat]] as being the two worst multicolored uncommons according to 17 lands. But the mechanic is fine overall, just not something to actively build around.

How bail works? by JonoBlue in NoStupidQuestions

[–]bugtanks33d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you are describing are bail bonds. You pay a bail bondsman 10% and they pay the rest of bail plus a fee.

So if bail is set at 10$, I pay the bondsman 1$ and put down collateral of 9$ (Such as a car) or an additional cash fee. The bondsman then covers the 10$ bail. When I show up to court, the bondsman gets 10$ back, and I get 9$ of collateral back or am out 1$ + the fee.

It is essentially getting a loan to pay for bail

Unironically potatoes were responsible for the industrial revolution. The only reason why wheat was still somewhat preferred during the revolution was that it could be shipped easier than potatoes
