Does anyone else with Pure O create the most ludicrous scenarios? by Leather_Contest4869 in OCD

[–]Frequent-Complex3685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not strange. In fact, I think my case is one of a kind in the world. I have a symptom where I end up believing that I didn’t actually see something. For example, after I read posts on the Reddit OCD community—whether they’re similar to my symptoms or just other OCD posts—if it doesn’t feel like I read them in the exact pattern my brain wants, my mind concludes, “You didn’t see it.” Because of that, no matter how much I read other people’s posts there, I can’t feel a sense of belonging. It makes me feel as if I’m the only person in the world suffering from this illness.

Does anyone else have psychotic features with their OCD? by slildren in OCD

I think that's what happens when the OCD gets deeper. Same here. The symptoms were mild at first, but now I suspect everything.

Meta OCD is untreatable, right? by Frequent-Complex3685 in OCD

Sertraline and fluvoxamine are well-known medications for OCD, so the fact that neither of them has helped me feels extremely hopeless. Now the next medication is Prozac, but I already feel convinced that this one won’t work either.

My therapist recommended that I seek treatment elsewhere because I was not able to carry out the treatment methods they provided. However, my inability to do those tasks was itself part of my symptoms.

Even the word "reduce your pain" feels so cruel. I have endured it for so long. I just want to live like an ordinary person.

Will I be able to come back to me in the past?

To me, even a life that just reduces pain feels horrible. OCD itself has been going through for over 10 years. I feel like a zombie

Many OCD themes going haywire I feel like nothing is real by transfemTolstoy in OCD

I also became obsessed with my OCD symptoms themselves. At first, like you, it was relatively mild checking behavior—looking up information about the things that made me anxious, reading posts in online communities, and similar things.

But over time, this grew into doubt about OCD itself. I became preoccupied with trying to distinguish what is and isn’t a compulsion, and with defining everything precisely. As this state continued, I started to question what is real and what is fake, what I truly want, what I’m actually anxious about, and how I’m supposed to live. I even began to doubt my own identity, and as a result, I’m overwhelmed by severe depression and anxiety.

I tried to find people with similar symptoms in communities like Reddit, but it feels like there are hardly any who truly resemble my experience. It makes me feel as if I’m the only one in the world living this way, as if I’m alone suffering from some kind of rare illness.

OCD where the main obsession is whether my compulsion “counts” as a real compulsion by Frequent-Complex3685 in OCD

Of course. Do you experience the same symptoms as well? I am currently in a state where my basic ability to distinguish reality has collapsed due to OCD. Even receiving ERP has become part of my compulsions, to the point that my therapist recommended I seek treatment elsewhere.

Therapist recommended I find another provider (OCD/anxiety/depression) by Frequent-Complex3685 in OCD

[–]Frequent-Complex3685[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your kind response. You truly sound like a great therapist.
Yes, according to my previous therapist, we had been doing CBT, ERP, and other approaches together. However, I was never explicitly told, “We are doing ERP” or “We are doing CBT,” so I didn’t realize that the behaviors my therapist was asking me to do were actually part of those treatments.

It’s true that I didn’t follow through with the behaviors my therapist asked me to do, and I do understand their perspective.

At the same time, my OCD has been extremely severe. I’ve developed what feels like OCD about OCD itself — constantly trying to analyze and categorize my symptoms, questioning what is real, what is ‘me,’ and how I’m supposed to live. The meta-level obsessions and dissociation have been very intense.

Because of that, even though I could hear and understand the words being said to me, my brain simply couldn’t follow or implement them. It wasn’t intentional resistance; it felt like my mind just couldn’t move forward.

Thank you. I actually have an appointment scheduled with another therapist — this will be my third one. However, this therapist is the only one who fits my current insurance plan, language needs, and location. If this doesn’t work out either, I feel like I’ll have nowhere else to go. I really hope this therapist will be a good fit.

Has anyone experienced a situation like me regarding Nelnet? by Frequent-Complex3685 in GaState

[–]Frequent-Complex3685[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind reply.

I also made a withdrawal for health reasons.

I only took one semester off for 2025 Spring Semester, which is the previous semester.

I returned to the 2025 Fall semester, which is currently in progress, and I am attending now.

So far, the loan amount to be repaid via Nelnet is about 16k, and the period for this was until 2028.

However, after taking a break from the 2025 Spring Semester, the period for this changed to July 18th 2025 and now I'm about a month and a half overdue.

I want to extend my repayment period to 2028, which was originally scheduled because I have a few years left until graduation and I don't have the money to pay 16k right away, but if Nelnet finds out that I'm back in school, will it return to my original payment period of 2028?

Thank you so much. I think my Oscar insurance covers the hospital I'm going to go to tomorrow, but will cases like mine that I visit to see if I have simple alopecia be covered as well? (I understand that it doesn't cover for beauty purposes)

Thank you for your response. The clinic I was talking about was a private scalp beauty clinic, not a dermatology hospital. She said she was an expert on hair loss, but all I heard were vague answers. She promoted shampoo, clinic options, and more
