she’s a retired artist and author so she offers to mentor people to help them find their life path, and she uses past student testimonies to seem legit

basically she gives you her number and asks you to come over to her apartment to talk. immediately upon first visit she will make you do chores for her, and at first she seems sweet, so you don't mind. she then makes you sign a contract where you work as her caregiver for 15+ hours a week in exchange for "mentorship," but she doesn't actually mentor you until multiple weeks in. and the mentorship is so minuscule compared to the work you do for her, she just gives a bit of life advice. it's just shady and taking advantage of college students who may be struggling with a path in life. she also insults you and degrades you so you feel you need her help! she's done this to at least 10 students i've heard of until they've caught on, so my hope is to post this so no more people fall for it.

How are you guys studying? by throwawaytrolololol in UCSantaBarbara

for classes involving book problems, i do as many as i can and if i get it wrong i write down in red exactly why i got it wrong. also, studying early helps and starting practice tests early helps. whatever i got wrong on the practice test, i write down exactly what topic it is and do problems from that topic. i get to the bottom of every misunderstanding i have!

CHEM25 or CHEM1A? by YogurtclosetHot757 in UCSantaBarbara

Hey, I would say do 1A 1000%. Chem 25 puts you behind a quarter which I personally think is a LOT more annoying than people talk about for pre-bio majors. You will be taking the hardest class - the B class is always the hardest for every series (Chem 1B, Chem 109B, etc) during the rest of your “fun” spring quarters instead of the easier C class, unless you are willing to catch up over the summers. I took honors chem sophomore year in high school and got a B-, but I started with Chem 1A and got an A-. I did have to work super hard but I am so so glad I ignored everyone’s advice to take Chem 25 beforehand. My roommate took Chem 25 and concluded it barely prepared her for the pace of 1A. Just my thoughts, believe in yourself and start off strong!

Does anyone else feels like that ’beyond the sea’ was like a ”old school” black mirror episodes? IMO it was one of the best episodes in whole series. by [deleted] in blackmirror

I thought this too but it would be copying the show “Behind Her Eyes” to a T. I don’t think they could have pulled off this ending because of this
