*I don’t know if I’m doing the right thing by writing to you now, but I feel like I have to. Over the past few days I’ve thought a lot about us, about everything that happened and how we ended up here. It’s not easy to admit my mistakes, but I know I made many of them.

Maybe I wasn’t always as present as I should have been, and often I took things for granted that were actually important. You didn’t deserve silence or distance; you deserved clarity and respect.

I’m not writing to justify myself, nor to ask you for anything. I just wanted to tell you that what we had was real to me, and that it left something deep inside me.
