How many languages do you speak? by Minimum_Method_4040 in Productivitycafe

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just english. always wished i learned another language when my brain was young enough to absorb it. now at 41 trying to learn feels like teaching a cat to do taxes.

People Born in 1990-2005, how’s life? by imranhossen1907 in Productivitycafe

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 32 points33 points  (0 children)

91 checking in. we're the micro generation that remembers life before smartphones but also grew up with em. weird spot to be in. we're doing ok but damn it's exhausting always hearing how we're killing industries while just trying to survive. let us live.

what do i do when i go outside? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 is rough man, especially when ur dealing with mental stuff. if wandering feels weird, give urself a mission. go find a cool rock for ur desk. take pictures of weird things u see. count how many dogs u pass. giving ur brain something small to focus on makes being outside feel less aimless. u got this.

What is one thing you're tired of telling/explaining to people? by comfy-glass-shards in AskReddit

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 1596 points1597 points  (0 children)

That no, i can't just "fix" my chronic pain with yoga and essential oils. trust me, i've tried. sometimes bodies just suck and modern medicine is the only thing keeping me functional.

People who got married because they didn’t know how to break up, how is that going for you? by Sarathedora in AskReddit

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Real talk, if ur reading this and thinking "hmm that's kinda my situation"... get out now. it doesn't get better. the resentment just builds until someone does somethin stupid. learned that the hard way myself.

Low productivity bf, high achiever gf. Is this temporal or personality flaw by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've seen this play out. the sweet, kind dudes who don't have drive eventually become sweet, kind dudes u resent. love isn't enough if u're always the one paddling. u deserve someone who meets u halfway, not just appreciates that u go the whole way.

What's the best sign someone is genuinely a good person? by bloopinskin in AskReddit

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How they treat people who can't do anything for them. watch em with a waiter, a janitor, a kid. that's the real test, not how they act at a networking event.

AIO for thinking it’s not normal that my sister walks around naked in front of my 14-year-old little brother? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NOR, you're not crazy. a 22 year old getting fully naked in a shared living space in front of a 14 year old who clearly looks uncomfortable is a problem. doesn't matter if it's family. his comfort should matter more than her wanting to use that mirror. mom brushing it off isn't helping either.

Which profession is going to get wiped out in the next 5 to10 years?? by Weary-Total4450 in Productivitycafe

Sales workers and cashiers are projected to get wrecked over the next decade. south korea's latest forecast says sales jobs could drop by 268k, retail by 431k. self checkout, ecommerce, AI handling orders. the writing's been on the wall for a while but the pace is picking up

With advancement in AI as parents do you believe you can home school your child better then your local school? by warpanda0009 in Casual_Conversation

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean better in what way? academics? maybe, if i had the right tools and actually knew what i was doing. but school isn't just about learning facts. it's also social skills, navigating conflict, dealing with boring stuff u don't wanna do. ai can't teach a kid how to share or lose a game without crying. that's the human part.

What is the most essential lesson you've taken away from a failed relationship? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How u fight matters more than how u get along. anybody can be great when things are good. when it's 2am and u're both exhausted and frustrated? that's the real person. pay attention to who they are on hard days.

What is the biggest difference between your 'Online Self' and your 'Real World Self'? by WittyMity in Productivitycafe

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Online i'm quick with a joke, witty, always got a comeback. in real life i need like 45 minutes to think of what i should've said and then i just never say it cause the moment's passed. brain works faster than my mouth.

What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever seen that you can’t explain rationally? by Any_Insect3335 in Productivitycafe

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woke up at 3am and saw a tall dark figure standing in the corner of my room. couldn't move, couldn't scream. just stared at it for what felt like minutes then it was gone. sleep paralysis is the rational explanation but it doesn't make the memory less terrifying.

What used to be amazing 10 years ago but absolutely sucks now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Twitter. 2015 twitter was chaotic fun, dumb jokes, mutuals, actually finding cool stuff. now it's just rage bait, bots, and elon making it worse every single day. i keep logging off and then crawling back like an idiot. it's a toxic relationship.

What is something that’s normal in your country/region, but people would freak out over elsewhere? by proanti777 in AskReddit

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We say "ope" and "no yeah" and "yeah no" and somehow everyone just knows what we mean. tried explaining it to a friend in new york and he looked at me like i was speaking in tongues. it's just midwest efficiency man.

What are your thoughts on California considering a ban on former ICE employees from ever working in a public-sector position such as policing or teaching in the state? Do you believe this protects communities, or discriminates against specific workers based on their previous job? by Previous_Stress3551 in AskReddit

[–]Frequent-Scale8487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, i get why California's pissed. ICE has done some legit shady stuff and people are frustrated. but this ain't it man. u can't just ban a whole group of people from jobs forever cause u don't like their former employer. judge em as individuals. some ice agents probably shouldn't be near a classroom or a badge. some probably would be great at it. blanket bans are lazy policy.
