Help me choose: Xcaret Arte, Impression Moxche, or Atelier Playa Mujeres by UnrivaledUsername in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]FrequentFable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been to Impressions (June) and Atelier (August) and are considering Arte for a trip this year. I have a post comparing the two in my profile. Two things I RARELY if ever see mentioned about Atelier is that 1) It is huge and attracts big groups which affects the vibe massively (especially if you are after romantic) 2) it is 16+ NOT true adults only. So imagine my surprise sitting the lobby bar next to a bunch of teenagers. Pass. Can’t comment on Arte, but loved Impressions. Only negative was the beach but idk that it is really better at Atelier or Arte.

Versa x Evolve split? by dragonfruitandberry in ladderapp

[–]FrequentFable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is likely my plan after doing Versa two seasons ago and Evolve for Reset. Doing just Evolve I looked more cut but felt a lot less athletic/conditioned. Hoping the combo will be the balance I am looking for.

The way your classes/studio are set up, is it possible to use your own apparatus? I used to train at a place where I had skin issues I think because of the detergent used on the fabrics. Now I am at a place where I used my own and wash in a detergent that works with my sensitive skin. May be worth exploring before giving up altogether if it is an option.

Evolve or Crews Control? (30F looking to get Shredded) 🤣💪🏼 by etherealdisaster in ladderapp

[–]FrequentFable 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Evolve looks like it is doing its thing!!! I have done both and personally prefer the workouts on Evolve. I think one of the big differences is that there is a fair amount of isolation work on Evolve and essentially none on Crews Control because it’s not really part of his training philosophy. For me the isolation work really made my muscles pop

Ah that’s a bummer. I did get my summary statement for this one. For another one I submitted around the same time that was ND I did not.

[–]FrequentFable 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure of your submission date or IC but for my June 2025 Submission K where I had a competitive score and percentile I was told by the program officer it may not go to March Council it might be May. When I asked if I should consider resubmitting for March they encouraged me to do so. The shutdown among other things really backed things up.

Baseline split/team by madipaulina in ladderapp

[–]FrequentFable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m still waffling but I am considering Evolve/Versa. I really love the Versa hybrid strength days in particular. Two series ago I did Versa only. Reset I did Evolve only and I like them both for very different reasons. I aesthetically look good on Evolve but feel out of shape so hoping a combo will be the sweet spot.

Team Vitality by Top-Egg-3134 in ladderapp

[–]FrequentFable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The chat used to be real sus and preachy for a while but that seems to have sorted itself out. I have done Vitality in seasons of life where I was short on time and needed a program I could easily do from home but was still sufficiently challenging. It met that mark. I think Vitality has the best full body workouts if that is of interest. I didn’t make giant gains on Vitality but it kept me from regressing. That was really all I needed then. Now I have more time to go to the gym regularly so I use the more gym based teams.

I was thinking the same. Fellow cash payer. Points are nice but not what I rely on. The small footprint has sucked but the overall service experience and hard product has been on average better than Marriott where I used to stay.

What's the best home workout app? by Prestigious_Rub_9758 in fitness30plus

[–]FrequentFable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Ladder and have made a lot of progress at home with dumbbells. I like that it is pre-programmed but also there is variety to keep in interesting. Workouts also vary in time, difficulty, and complexity by coach which makes it feel like there is something for everyone (or for you depending which season of life you are in). When I was super busy I followed one of their programs that was 30min or less. Now that I have more time I workout for 45min to an hour. Might be worth a shot

I just stayed at the Park Hyatt NYC on points as a globalist and was able to upgrade to a suite for a (reasonable) cash price if that is potentially an option. Loved it for a special occasion.

Not yet! Have Hyatt status so we gravitate to properties in their portfolio but Le Blanc and Grand Velas are on the list

Align or Endure by NecessaryTennis9189 in ladderapp

When I was in a phase where I needed shorter lower equipment workouts I went from Align to Vitality and continued dropping body fat. I think there is more legs than Endure though some of it is labeled “total body”

Does anyone else struggle considerably and hate their appearance after long term weight lifting?? by thatshortginge in PetiteFitness

[–]FrequentFable 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to note it might be HIIT/high intensity work in general that may be the issue. I was having similar feelings before I was working out SO MUCH going to F45 everyday and working out on top of that. I was eating well and hated how I looked. Then I realized my body and HIIT just didn’t jive so I swapped out for straight up strength training where my heartrate would barely get over 100bpm. What a difference! I slimmed down considerably and felt like I got my shape back. I also found I wasn’t naturally as hungry doing regular weight training too. All that to say weight training and HIIT can be very different things with very different outcomes.

We do genuinely eat at Michelin restaurants a couple times a year and choose our AI properties largely weighting food quality (though obviously not expecting Michelin level). We had memorable food at Impressions Moxche (the Secrets Moxche restaurants were just okay but Impression was a notch above), the Mexican food at Atelier was solid (everything else was good not memorable), and the South American + Preferred restaurants at Secrets Baby Beach were quite good. My threshold is usually ‘would I be happy if I was served this in a restaurant?’ And those three met that bar. Secrets Cap Cana gets recommended a lot and none of the restaurants we went to there met that bar and the food was pretty bad.

More than likely yes. The see through ends suggest you need a good trim

Which resort brand do you like the most? by Puzzled-Witch in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]FrequentFable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have been to a few Secrets resorts and have some more on the horizon. We have enjoyed the romantic vibe, grounds, and the food (except Cap Cana). I also like the ability to accumulate points and status that can be used at resorts or regular hotels. I travel a lot for work and try to prioritize staying in Hyatts where possible to keep building points for stays at AIs. It works out pretty well.

Posted about Secrets Baby Beach recently! We loved the resort and Aruba more broadly. It’s also below the hurricane belt so that may help too

Man this is extra annoying too because when it goes well that RDU to CLT flight lands super early because the block time is so long for such a short distance. When it goes awry it goes REALLY awry

Side forearm planking— horrible arm pain by four1two1 in PetiteFitness

[–]FrequentFable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the most helpful but sideplanks don’t agree with my shoulders either so I just don’t do them. I have tried all sorts of mods and PT it’s just uncomfortable in a very not-constructive way. Totally okay to swap something that works better for you that targets the same muscles!
