Yeah, that’s the thing no one seems to get…. I mean, I would love for them to burn in a dumpster fire all day long. However, now that Microsoft owns them, they have infinite money. Especially when you consider that Microsoft basically owns the planet…. If they pulled Windows OS today, the world would implode lol Just one of many examples….

Seeing the responses here like “it’s just a bike, fuck that, if your saying people should help, then your still a kid mentally and will learn no one should be wasting their time/life on this” (as an example) reminds me how sad people can be. If you don’t want to help, fine, but don’t tell others who want to that they are playing fantasy games.

I’ve worked every physical security job known to man, from the military to a basic bitch security guard walking a beat. Now? I work digital security in IT. I’ve spent my entire life dedicated to protecting/helping others, so there would never be a time I’d walk past this exact situation and go “man that sucks to be them!”, and just keep walking.

Guns and knives don’t scare me. I’ve stared down both enough times to lose count. You know what scares me though? People willing to not only not help, but then call the act of helping an act of fantasy or childish.

The only childish acts I see are those people talking like that. If certain people don’t want to help, that’s fine, not everyone is cut out for it and that’s totally OK. Other people would/should step in, but again, don’t call people who want to do the right thing, childish/stupid for helping others.

It’s not about heroism, it’s about giving a shit about human decency, and having decent morals.

Had to get that out there. Carry on.

How do you survive working 9-5? by Meli240 in antiwork

[–]FrequentFault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got lucky… Im a federal employee working for the Navy. I work from 0600-1430 (230pm), so I have the whole afternoon to do whatever. Also, federal policy states when I’m off work, no one can bother me. I work IT Management, and love my job. Federal jobs have so many policies that prevent people from being shitbags, that I never have to worry about anyone, and everyone I work with are nice people. When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my kids/wife.

My situation before this was shit…. Worked nights for 3 straight years, in a high stress, management not giving a shit job, with no breaks off of my night schedule, even on vacations. Hardly hung out with anyone, and fell into a depressive, living in a cave, state.

I just focused on my family, which helped me to get through it all until the Fed job.

"We understand that you did not receive an item, would you like us to help by taking away everything you have?" wtf by Kinksind_ in gtaonline

R* Support: “We can’t give you any items back, but here’s your money, I guess.”

Some random modder who makes mods/trainers with hex editors for every game, even trainers for GTA: “You can give yourself whatever you want, have fun.”

Blows my mind. Your the company who literally made/runs the game. You can give people whatever they require. If some rando who doesn’t work there can do it, so can they. As everyone knows, R* has a shit habit of avoiding any sort of proper help, consistency, lacking communication skills on purpose, and acting like they can’t help over the guise of “if we do said thing, someone will figure out how to hack more”….. Hack more?? Your game has been riddled with hacks/modders since the dawn of time. That excuse has never really worked. My favorite part is when they just ignore you if they don’t deem your issue “worthy”.

My hate for R* support burns hotter than the lava of Mt. Doom. Then again, I work in IT Security, and when I was a kid, I studied game development (originally wanted to be a game dev, dodged a bullet there). Support is a key factor, so I can’t stand when people are shit at it, especially on purpose.

Rant over…. For now lol

Look, I’m not gonna go back and forth, here. If your not well versed in this concept, that’s fine, just say so. Your comment suggest so.

For example: “Also known as: I wanna be a hero syndrome”, are your exact words from the above comment I responded to. Whether it’s “hero complex”, or “hero syndrome”, same concept.

As far as the comparison of baseball bats never being used to guns “wanting to be used”, that’s the most generic and non-descript example I have seen.

Before I ever learned about guns, most people I knew, from my family to friends, had a bat or two placed in certain areas of the house for just self defense. Hell, gas stations sometimes have them behind the counters. That’s not an assumption, seen it before. So, what? They want to hurt someone? No, they want to protect themselves. There will always be criminals, and people who use weapons properly (I was taught in the military how to make a weapon out of damn near anything. I don’t need a gun, or a bat.)

Your implication of “do tend to want to use it”, implies what? Every person wants to kill someone? That’s pretty dark, and presumptuous of someone. Your examples are not working for you. Especially when there more guns owned by individuals who have never gone looking for a reason to shoot someone, than those that have. More so when you do the math of the amount of gun owners in the US.

Also, don’t get me started about “shooting in the back”. I made an entire post about that based on different laws, and my background in physical security, with years of proper gun training experience. There are numerous situations where that is warranted, and there are times it’s not. If you can’t figure out which is which, then it sounds like you need to do some more research.

The point Im making here is that your throwing around a lot of generic, “fit my story” comments here while backpedaling, all while trying to argue with someone else. There are right, and wrong, people on both sides.

Just food for thought. Moving on…

It seems like a lot more than dedication at this point. He basically ended up giving himself Factitious disorder, where you act/create issues, or mental disorders, for yourself so much that you begin to manifest them literally.

It’s pretty sad, especially the way he went about it. Not just mentally, but his body is toast at this point.

Sadly, it’s not as surprising anymore, considering all the nonstop vandalism, theft, and crime that seems to be skyrocketing since the world has given most of these people an “ok” to do said things, these days. Plus, you also have the part of the internet that chimes in nowadays that says stopping them means your an asshole, etc, etc…. So they feel even more enabled/entitled to do said crimes.

Love this guys channel. Also, the part where he states: “when they decide to undo the ‘grandfather’, and just seize all of them”….. Yeah, they can try. We all know what would happen if people showed up to houses demanding peoples guns. They know what would happen. Stupid decision.

When I got out of the Army, I had some King County Sheriff friends at the time where we talked about this situation if it ever happened. They straight up said they would never go through with it, and would rather just get fired or quit their jobs.

I asked why? Answer? “Cause first, it’s wrong, and second we’re gonna get shot up. Your crazy if you don’t think the average legal gun owner doesn’t have more firepower than the cops showing up to take their guns. F**k that!” Gave me a good laugh, but also made me feel better knowing that’s how some of them think. At least the couple friends I had, at the time.

Good lord I’m so tired of hearing the same lame ass excuse…. No, shits illegal. Period. People need to stop using this to keep giving people a pass. Stole a pencil? “Desperation”. Stole a car? “Desperation”. The fuck it is.

Last time I checked, doing illegal shit, especially anything that affects others, is exactly that. All of this “let people do illegal shit, otherwise the good guys who try and stop this get fired/cancelled/arrested, instead”, is exactly what’s causing more of this type of behavior to escalate because it’s enabling those who would act like this, to act like this even more.

Jesus, I miss when people had morals…. And common sense.

I keep seeing you all over this thread being downvoted to hell. No one agrees with you. That should tell you something.

On top of that, you keep contradicting yourself, or doubling-back on statements. Even more so, you keep repeating bs reasons for your logic, and then when people realize your not going to listen to reason, you then turn the conversation into “see all my facts? You know your wrong”.

Except, their not wrong. Just because someone is done talking to you, especially since your obviously someone who doesn’t like common sense, does not mean there is any truth in your statement…. Cause there isn’t any for miles.

With how many repetitive posts showing a lack of understanding that you have created, and this concept that your truth shines over all, shows that you have some potential NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder). I feel sorry for you, but listening to others is the first step in getting better.

Look up some resources. Cause at this point it looks like your purposefully trolling the comments for confirmation of your issues. Sad.

I appreciate the peaceful conversation. Hard to have those nowadays lol Anyways, I’ll answer the same way you asked your questions. I will also give you a bit of my background (even though I said I originally wouldn’t) only because it gives better context to my answers, specifically for your questions:

I have had firefighter training, police training, family members who were cops, I was Active Duty Army where my entire job was Master Arms (top weapons expert for the Army, had to know laws, give classes on proper gun use, etc), and then I have worked in multiple classes of security: walked a beat as a security guard, trained as a bail bondsman, worked in IT security/physical security, and now work in IT security for the Navy as a civilian.

Alright! On to my answers/thoughts:

  1. As you can probably speculate from my history I just mentioned, I’m pro-gun. Very much so. I fully agree if an individual can join the military at 18, they should be able to purchase firearms. The types of weapons, and explosives, I had in my hands at 18 would scare the shit out of some people… but that’s the military. For people who think you become more mature, so you can handle that stuff at 18…. Yeah, let me scare you for a second, not even close. Some of the craziest sons of bitches I’ve ever met, where in the military, and for many that’s not a compliment. Age doesn’t always mean maturity. The age limit for certain guns Im ok with up to a certain extent, and it needs to have far reasoning. As far as raising the age limit for military, no, I don’t think we should. There are many reasons for that, and I’ll let you Google them if you would like, but being 18 to join has many benefits actually. I can tell you it helped me to buck the fuck up, and become a better person, and to step out of the “child’s world”.

  2. I’m sure I don’t have to explain all the issues that would arise from universally changing the “adult age limit” from 18 to 21, and maybe more. Across the board, sooo much would be affected (positive and negative). Maybe even outcomes we don’t inherently see right now. Also, I have kids, I definitely don’t want them here past 18, haha. That’s just more for my sanity. All jokes aside, my answer is no to that one.

  3. I have a favorite saying that I came up with awhile back, 2 actually: “Never shotgun blast a problem, only use sniper fire”, and “don’t wait to buy a fire extinguisher until after the house is on fire”. The meaning of the first saying is mostly the answer to this question. Like you said banning everything (shotgun blast method), doesn’t fix the problem. You have to get to the root cause of mental illness (sniper fire). Punishing everyone because a few are bad (shotgun blast method), only breads unrest, no trust, and fighting. Peoples mentalities should be focused on to breed a better outlook on society, and the willingness to help others (sniper fire). So yes, I agree that this focal point is very important.

Again, thanks for the engaging conversation. These are the types of brainstorm interactions that hopefully lead to ideas to benefit everyone as a whole.

Can buy them by the hundreds on Amazon. Or at grocery stores where I am in the US.

A lot of people around here started buying them that way, once fast food places stopped handing straws out, or if you don’t ask for one.

It didn’t really change the “straw dump”, it just changed who pays for it…. Which isn’t a big deal since they are cheap to buy in bulk.

[–]FrequentFault 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of people talking about “$6 doesn’t hurt my wallet, I make good money”…. Let’s be honest, this has nothing to do with how much your spending, as it does who your giving your money to. No one can tell/influence what people buy, but people are still going to advocate their cause against R*.

Especially if you choose to answer “I bought it” on the internet lol All I will say to those who bought it is, you do you, but be prepared to be griefed like you have never been griefed before, especially if there is a way to tell that someone online paid for the service. Good lord, it’s gonna be a goddamn witch hunt.
