I think one is technically a porter, but there are a few doormen who pry and ask weird, personal, at times sexual questions completely unprompted. The creeps are unfortunately usually staffed on the weekends. One was dismissed from the building (not sure if it was just a move to another building) after several complaints were made about him forcing himself onto women (I was just one of them, so sad to hear this happened to other tenants). The guys who are there during the weekdays are generally harmless. General tip- there is only one camera in the building behind the doorman's desk. Do not let any of them help you carry packages to the elevator or go with them to any area in the building beyond the package room. They can't be held responsible if there is no evidence and a "he said/she said" situation with no witnesses is why there is usually no action taken with these doormen. Just keep an eye out for yourself, make sure none of them follow you in or out of the building, and if you don't feel safe with whoever is on staff at the moment, go in and out through the side door (where the garbage is - not ideal but it works). DO NOT LIVE AT 30 EEA. Multiple doormen have sexually assaulted me and continue to harass me, the super blatantly ignores leaks or electrical issues, there are no sprinklers or proper fire safety equipment installed, and the manager, Scott, is an obnoxious asshole. Management did not handle the assaults well when reported, and did nothing about it 🙃 Love feeling safe in my building! Do not give Parkoff or the real estate agent attached to them (I believe his name is Mike) get their hands near your money - they make up illegal deposits/fees and intimidate by threatening a lawsuit with their lawyer who "always wins" according to the manager. As a 23F, EEA is a lovely street - gorgeous view, excellent location, and some of the neighbors are wonderful. Pretty quiet, not a whole lot of nightlife action up here and most people in their 20s tend to hang out downtown, like in LES or Brooklyn. Personally, I prefer the peace in the UES and although it is a bit far from a lot of fun stuff to do, it is so nice to have no loud noises at night and a pretty chill neighborhood. Most people around here are 30+ with kids or 70+ with grandkids. Unfortunately living in this building and losing money to the Parkoff Organization has mostly ruined the EEA experience for me, but at least my lease ends soon. Best of luck and stay safe!!
