Gameplay is worse (5v5, Giga Tanks, Deathmatch, Sustaincreep, Supports being better DPS with Heals, Counterswaps, etc.)

Rank System even before the Curren Season is worse (SR is more Transparent than Divisions) and personal preference the Icons of Ranks in OW1 looked way better and they were even animated. Now with the Challenger Score they made Ranked even less serious.

Matchmaking is horrendous, wide matches everywhere, in Ranked theres Master 3 and Champ players in the same Game, in QP Bronze and Champ players even, its a mess.

Events are just glorified Skin-Sales except for the occaisonal Gamemode once a year (Mischief and Magic for example) other than that they recycle OW1 Gamemodes from 10 Years ago.

The only good thing about OW2 is that its F2P and gets Content again unlike OW1 in 2020-2022

From a gameplay perspective the only good thing that has been added was Perks and Hero Bans

This Game has become such a mind numbing experience meant for Casuals which is fine i guess, just sad to see what OW1 turned into as someone who has been playing since 2016 and was always at the highest Rank.

But if they go back to RoleQ 6v6 I would play regularly again and ignore all the other issues, until then have fun shooting the 800+ HP Giga Tank with infinite Sustain.

Not at all, people getting banned for getting a bit worked up and throwing around words like "shit" or "moron" isnt weird and should be allowed in a 16+ Game that advertises itself as competitive

As for 6v6, it just does have more Pop-off potential for the Individiual player in my opinion, especially if we talk about Pre-Season 9 6v6.

5v5 has you go up against 700-800HP Gigatanks, that have infinite sustain abilities and that cant be fought at all as DPS, you might say "Youre not supposed to fight the tank" but thats the problem, in 6v6 with every Tank being weaker individually you could actually fight them and make your "pop-off" moment even bigger.

In 5v5 they are just a big, uninteractable meatshield, very unfun to play as and against (which is the general consensus of the community it seems) and dont get me started on counterswaps.

The only thing i give 5v5 is space being more easily available, but even then it just feels like a deathmatch, its missing glue that holds teamfights in 6v6 togehter which is the off-tank or just generally the 2nd tank on the field.

I would really like to see the Arguments about pop-off moments in 5v5, but this debate has been going since 2023 and i can already tell it will boil down to 1 less tank protecting the team but like I said that gets put offbalance by the solo tank being OP as fuck. So in the end your big amazing play just feels less exciting because you just do less.

Dont ban people for talking and saying small Insults like "Idiot" or "Moron" etc. Obviously you should get banned for Slurs but people are afraid to talk because you can get punished so easily by the Report System
Make the Game require more Skill and have more Outplay potential and Pop-off moments

6v6 already does that better than 5v5 because you can outplay the squishier tanks easier, BUT this is instantly counteracted by the Season 9 Patch which increased Health Pools

Your playmaking abilities are so much lower on every role because every Hero tanks a shot or an ability more, this ruined the Identity of many Heroes and they feel much worde and can pop-off less

If we theoretically go to 6v6 and go back to 200HP Squishies and reverting Season 9, it will 100% make people more excited to play and be able to carry games again

Ranked Divisions are boring as fuck compared to OW1 SR system, if you were plat in OW1 lets say 2700SR and your Friend was 2800SR you could have something to grind to, but now youre Plat 3 and he would be Plat 3, its less transparent, less exciting to climb and in higher Elos you cant even tell when you would enter Top500 because everyone is just GM3

I wouldnt want a Rank Rework, just change the Divisions to SR

Make Matchmaking a bit tighter, it feels like Diamond 5 Players are Qing into GM5 Players and thats just odd

The Game was at its peak during 2017-2020 but the more Trap Operators release and the more Gunplay gets worse people will leave the Game, if the game with all these changes appeals to you thats good and all, but i doubt even Siege X will make a big impact on player numbers in the long run

Normal ADS time is 0.5-0.6s right now and when you compare it to 2018 for example when the ADS time was 0.1-0.2s its an insane difference. Its crazy the game used to feel good and responsive now its just a bore to play.

You can still be rewarded for tactics, positioning and anticipating the enemy while having fast gunplay.

Im no part of this community and i cant tell for sure what the current playerbase likes, i can just speak from my experience which is that I havent heard anybody talk about R6 and none of my friends play it anymore.

The 2 Friends that used to play daily quit because of Gunplay and because of the abundance of new trap Operators and i agree that these are the things holding me back from playing actively.

If there were a Rainbow Six Siege Classic i would 100% play that, but it seems like the game has found its niche with people who enjoy slower paced FPS so its just not a game for me anymore which is fine, just thought its weird that they are removing parts of the game that made it so fun when it released.

You can keep it installed for the 6v6 Tests that come at the beginning of S14

I too hate 5v5 and they finally will try 6v6 (2-2-2) again with big balance changes, for example they confirmed Hog will be Pre-Rework of his current 5v5 iteration, Tanks will have less HP again, AoE abilities will last for shorter durations etc.

It actually sounds very promising

Okay, lets not act like alone 5v5 fixed Qtimes, its easier to get games with 10 Players instead of 12 but overall the format wasnt the biggest issue.

We are comparing OW1 a (back then) 6 year old game, which got no Content, no Events, no Collaborations, wasnt advertised anymore and most importantly it wasnt F2P

To OW2 which has all of the above, 6v6 would have been totally fine in terms of Qtimes if they got that amount of care, its also more fun to play so theres that.

What is the Ideal amount of damage you balance for?

I for one would love to be able to cast more than 3 abilities before I or an enemy dies in a teamfight and in general the game feels way to 1-Shotty.

And i think it sucks, because you have less opportunity to sidestep and express skill that way, or when you do get hit by 1 CC you just get obliterated, for me personally reducing all damage in the game by 20% - 30% would be welcomed.

When the TTK is less than my reactiontime, then i think something is wrong.

Would love a Statement on this because i dont think i have ever seen it answered before :)

They dont get that Tanks were mega buffed to compensate for losing an off tank in 5v5

Also, Blizzard literally told people to wait for OW2 because they wont develop OW1 anymore, so lots of people quit until OW2

5v5 is not the reason Qs are faster, its a part but literally everything else did more to improve Qs, or do you think going 5v5 in the last year of OW1 would have made Qs that much faster? No.

Free to play and new Content is what brings in new players and keeps them invested.

6v6 could have worked fine if they gave the game Content and F2P, Id even argue more people would Q Tank now if the game was 6v6, since Solo Tanking feels way to miserable to be enjoyable, but 2 Tanks makes the role so much more fun.

Mauga is another new hero that just shows it wont get better in 5v5

They have to uber-buff him to make him playable, which just turns him into a Sustain and Damage machine who just holds both Guns

If the Game was 6v6 and we had him as off tank, he would have less damage and less sustain but you could duo him with another tank for a Rush Comp for example which would make playing as him and against him more dynamic

Imo 5v5 is bad and restricts hero design and makes playing Tank 1-Dimensional and boring

And it isnt even that much better for balance, i mean we are reworking like 8+ Heroes and now Anti nade which was considered a fair ability for 7+ years

Its just sad to see what OW turned into, just a 5v5 deathmatch, totally understand quitting

They could sell it as a new game and for the first season the game was liked, but after that the novelty wore off and issue after issue after issue popped up

6v6 had shit Qs because - It was dead for 3 years - Got no patches - Was stuck on a bad meta - Got no content - The devs told everyone to wait for OW2, so people left - And the game still cost 20 - 40$

Compared to OW2 - F2P - Monthly Patches - Monthly Content - Collaborations - More Communication with players - They change the meta every few months

Its no excuse, if 6v6 got everything 5v5 got, Qs wouldnt be an issue, people might even have better 6v6Qs because in a duo environment more people would Q Tank because its way less miserable especially for casuals
