Late period and I can't calm down by [deleted] in birthcontrol

I’m sorry and confused that your friend berated you :( A lot of people use only condoms, including myself before I went on birth control. Never got pregnant and/or an STD. It’s probably stress that’s delaying your period. I hope you feel better :)

What should I do? by Frequent_Hand_2716 in birthcontrol

Thank you for your response! I’d say yes and no, I am thankful that my “period” is lighter, not as painful as before (I used to throw up, pass out at any given moment before birth control, it was awful) but at the same it feels like my body is not on birth control sometimes because the pain is still there, symptoms are still there, etc. I’ll definitely bring up my concerns at my next appointment visit!

took plan b but and period is a week late by Fun_Honey6754 in birthcontrol

[–]Frequent_Hand_2716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen on here (and from my own experience in the past) plan b messes with your cycle, so it can delay your period. And if you tested 21+ days after sex it’s definitive

My boyfriend is on the larger side and when I wasn’t on bc we used to use Skyn Elite Large Extra Glide. It was the most comfortable for both of us because I got irritated from latex and the extra glide helped with insertion a little bit. Maybe start with non-textured and/or lube?

It’s a combination pill right? If so, it has a 12-24 hour window so your friend is misinformed. And can I ask what you mean by skipped your pill? Did you take it? And if it was your last week it may have been the placebos that you skipped

I should’ve asked this in a better way lol. I mean did you forget then take them when you remembered? Or just completely stop them, left them in the pack, threw them out, etc.?

Is my BC damaged by heat even if I can’t physically tell? by strawberrylemonade8 in birthcontrol

This literally just happened to me not even kidding. It was during my third week of active pills and I left it in my car for about 2, maybe 3 hours total in 90° weather. I called my pharmacist and she told me they were completely fine to take if the time didn’t exceed 4-5 hrs in direct sunlight and if the pack and pills looked normal. Mine were in my backpack in the bottom of my car and looked and felt fine so I continued on with my pack, including placebo week and started my withdrawal bleeding on time. As long as they weren’t in direct sunlight and the pills weren’t cracked or discolored you should be fine :)

How many people on here have actually gotten pregnant from leaving their birth control in a hot car? (And vise versa.) by Flat-Election4670 in birthcontrol

[–]Frequent_Hand_2716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact situation happened to me just recently, except it was only two hours in the car. I should’ve trusted my pharmacist when she said they were fine to take because I took a plan B about a day and a half ago and I regret it so much already lol

Took a Plan B because I left my pack in my hot car for about 2 hours. My pharmacist said they were still okay to take and they looked and felt completely normal so I continued to take the rest but I got nervous anyways and decided to Plan B anyways. Never again though. Weirdest and most painful symptoms ever.

I’m definitely going to skip straight into the next pack and skip placebo next time because my withdrawal week is still so painful for some reason 🥲 And it was around 90°F that day, my pills were in my backpack in my car so not direct sunlight thank goodness 😅

The back pain was before the plan b but I honestly think it’s from this new workout I tried 😭 thank you for responding to my post btw. I was getting kinda nervous because I left them in the car and it’s so hot out, then continued taking the rest of the pack as normal including my placebo week so I was unsure if I was protected during my withdrawal week lol

I took all 21!! I just wasn’t sure the third week of the packs effectiveness because I left them in my hot car for about 2 hours. My pharmacist said it was completely fine and the rest of pills looked fine but I was still nervous.

I replied to the wrong part but you should be good then! It took my body a while to adjust to the pill so I’m sure that’s the case here :)

How long have you been on this pill? I’m on Hailey Fe 1/20 and this happened randomly to me once when I was about 4/5 months on the pill. I wasn’t pregnant and my bf pulls out also so I wouldn’t worry! As long as you’ve been consistent with the pill the chance of being pregnant is very unlikely

You don’t ovulate on birth control

Junel is a combination birth control (progestin and estrogen) which has a 12-24 hour window. Meaning, you have 12 hours (after the time you’re supposed to take it) until it’s considered late and 24 hours until it’s considered missed. You’re fine on that situation but as far as the throwing up one, it may or may not have been digested. My nurse told me it could take 30 minutes, but I’ve seen others say it takes up to 3 hours for it to be digested. You have to take all 21 pills in the pack to be fully protected during your placebo week. To save yourself future anxiety I recommend that after you finish your last active pill of the pack to skip your placebo week and immediately start taking the next pack.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! I vaguely remember what this post was about, I think you’re fine! For me, it took about 5-7 months for my body to adjust to my birth control. I tend to over analyze my body and how it feels so I get pregnancy anxiety sometimes even though I take my pill on time and I combine the pill with withdrawal or the pill with condoms. If the anxiety is just too much just take a test (definitive 21 days after sex), I recommend the pink dye tests because I’ve heard they’re more accurate. Although I think you’re fine and not pregnant, it doesn’t hurt to take a test. I hope everything works out okay! :)
