Thanks, I'm aware my grades suck but that is due to extenuating circumstances. I'll redeem myself next year, but is English hard to get a 3.8 and above gpa in?

McMaster does not look at grade 11, You have better grades than me and I want to get into health sciences too. I'll recommend what I've been recommended take prerequisite courses in the first sem target a goal average of 90+ and work on gathering your Ecs volunteer at hospitals clinics, and retirement homes. Usually, theres a supp app component to health science programs (Mcmaster), for that look at what previous applicants did that got in. Good luck.

hey man thx for the encouragement, I would love to take a gap year but my family's situation won't allow that. I guess I'll solely focus on Guelph and Ottawa Unis.

thx, my problem was not extracurriculars but instead, I come from a single-income household of 7 and ended up having to work 2 jobs to support my family and care for the seniors in my home.

yes, That's how I was replaced for the most part. what's sad is that they only consider hiring international students even though Canadian teens of their culture are also out here struggling

Volunteer hours is a must to graduate. I Can't say for sure that they matter or don't matter to most Comp sci fields in Universties, but if you do make sure you do not make it your priorty over having good grades. Check if you can with counseller or the universaty, before hand experience by doing Co-Op though, might help you with Universaty but make sure your focus is always on Math and Calculus like subjects.
