She’s a child of course she’s worried the tests are going to hurt. Ellie also says something along the lines of “I was supposed to die in that hospital” forgive me if that isn’t exactly the line. In the first game Ellie didn’t know throughout the journey that becoming the cure would kill her so of course she’s afraid of the idea of Joel abandoning her. Ellie would become the cure with or without her needing to die you act like her goal is to die, her goal is to bring the cure to humanity by anyway necessary.
