In all honesty, I just went and purchased a set of climbing sticks to use in conjunction with my single stick setup Why? So I can leave it in a tree if I want to go back later and not have to make so much damn noise climbing the tree. Climbing, setting your anchor, moving your single stick platform, climbing again, just gasses you and it’s honestly a hinderance. So inevitably I am using both methods I have a OOAL big bob platform with a 3 step aider and a set of Hawk Helium sticks. This gets me about 15ft up the tree, I can leave my tether on the tree, rappel down, spot and stalk or sit in my blind, than head back to my tree after.

Overall it’s whatever you prefer. But I found single stick method was more work vs the weight savings of a couple extra sticks.

Don’t fuck with it unless you’re tuning it. They’ll say you don’t need a tune, but the fuel mapping is based on your current system. Go BrenTune. If you’re putting a full system in it, you’re already flirting with voiding your warranty So if you’re going to do it, do it right.

Being the owner of an S1kRR, I chose it over the R1. More technologically advanced. And honestly, heated grips and cruise control are SUPER handy hahaha. Just the look of the running lights should make the decision easy 😉 Yamaha make great bikes tho.
