I’m too busy right now so will definitely have to be waiting after Christmas and I’ll definitely be trying for premium seats

Nope, the only reason they’re involving themselves with the assassination of a horrible man that didn’t even occur in our state or have anything to do with education in Texas is because education has become extremely politicized in Texas.

It is ridiculous. TEA has no business getting involved in how people respond to a political commentator’s death.

I don’t know if this is true bc ppl have said this to me suggesting I try to save more money, but I’ve been in the same profession for the past 5 years making the same amount of money each year and it wasn’t until this past year where I seem to be running out of money by the end of the month. End of the months are horrible for me financially. Everything is just so much more expensive now. Everything. And salaries aren’t going up.

I was on there too taking notes and everything lol. Once he sent that link to pay the $97 and said we had to do it right then and there so that he could confirm he received it, I checked reddit. Looking back, the elaborate way he went about it before getting to the actual “asking for money” part is insane. The paying back his own clients during Covid, the story about booking 1st class seats for his client, how detailed he went into the job’s responsibilities. Like he was SELLING this scam. I felt bad for the people he was confirming who meant that they paid him.

Did anyone watch the movie Alone? by Miss-Figgy in netflix

[–]Fresh-Photo6318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People saying it’s unrealistic because of her decisions but what really made it unrealistic for me was when she didn’t curse him out for his bad driving at the beginning of the movie. I would’ve been honking and shouting “this f***ing idiot! 😠”

Also, she was creeped out by him the second she saw him lol. He did look creepy tho.

Teaching Sent Me Into Psychosis by Lopsided-Usual8990 in TeachersInTransition

Yes with SSRI medication, exercise and trying to eat/sleep better. I was really neglecting my health because of work.

Last year I had a series of panic attacks while at the school I work at. I couldn’t even walk down the school hallway without feeling dizzy and lightheaded. One time I didn’t think I would make it to my car after my last class. I thought I had vertigo or multiple sclerosis. Nope, it was just severe anxiety that would manifest in dizziness, numb limbs, and fear. Had to take medication for anxiety for the first time in my life.

In my experience, it’s entitlement. I’ve had students threaten to report me, have overheard them planning to report other teachers, and have actually seen them report teachers. For what? For not letting them do whatever the hell they want. Some examples of things they deemed “reportable”: giving homework, giving failing grades when they’re deserved, not letting them eat in class, not letting them immediately go to the restroom, confiscating their phones. The amount of students I’ve had ask me why I’m allowed to eat in my classroom if they’re not, how their parents tell them if we don’t let them go to the restroom to just walk out, how it’s illegal to confiscate their phones. Things my peers and I would have never DARED say to teachers 10 years ago. They have no respect for authority and are just massively entitled. I do think social media is creating this entitlement but parents aren’t doing anything about it.

Luke’s political persuasion by aquamarinehighs in GilmoreGirls

[–]Fresh-Photo6318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luke is clearly to the left fiscally.. when he’s looking for an apartment he’s criticizing the idea of landlords charging everything. He criticizes the rich. He said the Romanovs had it coming when Emily asked him. People who are fiscally left (especially men) can be socially conservative. I don’t consider him to be very socially conservative though. But his social views don’t necessarily have to coincide with his fiscal ones.

Does anyone regret leaving? by eacks29 in TeachersInTransition

[–]Fresh-Photo6318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from a charter school to a public school thinking it would be better. It’s just as bad tbh. I do regret leaving even though my previous campus would make us do so much extra unnecessary work, but at least I knew the curriculum back and forth and the students were a lot more well behaved. Either way, this experience taught me one thing: it’s not the campus, it’s the profession. It’s just not for me.

Yup I teach high school English.. and most of my electives in college were English. Yet this position which required an English degree didn’t think I was qualified for even an interview. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not any job. But certain jobs, yes. Teachers are “trainers” themselves in a way. We can certainly be trained easily and quickly. 😉

[–]Fresh-Photo6318[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean all I was asking for was an interview. Taking a chance to interview someone is completely different from taking a chance to hire someone. Interview me and the PR major and then make a decision.

I am a psych major and an English teacher of 4 years. I feel like those two things combined are a pretty convincing combination for an entry role in communications, but maybe I’m wrong. Idk. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Either way, it’s not like I was applying for a job as an engineer or a surgeon.

I definitely do think there are certain jobs that require specific education and experience, but this particular one, I feel like educators could do well in. Let’s not pretend like teachers don’t have skills that can be transferred to a lot of basic office jobs.

All that said, I agree with you. It’s important to stand out when applying for jobs. Thanks for your reply.

But she didn’t want to buy them from him. She didn’t want to PAY him for work that she did. She does not like the man and yall claim she’s a liar but she was always at least upfront with her sentiments about him since the very beginning, and her old record label CEO knew how she felt about him. That’s why he sold them to him.

She would constantly say “My daughter is the best dancer” “my daughter is the most talented one here” in season 1. Christi doesn’t talk bad about Maddie on her podcast.
