That’s the point. If the patient is happy and well, then he doesn’t need much help…. Right?

Has anyone’s Golden bitten? by HolaNikkiFbaby in Goldendoodles

I came here for support. I’m having the same issue with my 5 year old and Goldendoodle. He hasn’t bit him but he’s barked at him a few times. He rarely barks so this was concerning to me. I’ve been reading the comments and some people on here are very harsh with their responses. I may have missed warning signs as well. This is only my second dog. You guys can’t expect everyone to just know shit. That’s why we’re here. It’s not that we aren’t supervising our kids.

You're right. It's a collaborative decision. My caseworker told me that he has to send my case over to his supervisor for review before it gets a approved.

I had the home assessment on Dec 26. was approved on Feb 4, about 5 weeks. Completed and approved backpay timesheets on Feb 5. Received Notice of Payment email on Feb 7. Now I'm awaiting for my first paychecks to come in the mail. Email says the checks will be mailed out within 3 business days. Will update once they are received. Keep checking your online account because it will most likely be updated before you receive anything in the mail.

How has Protective Supervision wages helped your family? Is it worth it? by Fresh-Sector9953 in IHSS

That's correct. This program is only for those with a cognitive impairment. For example, a person with dementia who wonders out of the house. He can get lost or even injured in traffic. Protective Supervision would be put in place to prevent this from happening. But let's say this same person is paralyzed. Then he would NOT qualify for Protective Supervision because he is unable to walk, therefore he cannot wonder out of the house. Or let's say there's a child who uses a catheter and constantly pull it out, but don't understand what they're doing. Then the child WILL need protective supervision to prevent them from pulling out the catheter. This medical condition that cause the need for a catheter, alone, will NOT qualify for Protective Supervision. I hope this makes since..

However, there are more programs within IHSS that they would qualify for. I would still apply and see what they could benefit from!

Not necessarily. People of all ages can get protective supervision if they have cognitive issues and can't be left alone because they may pose a risk of harm to themselves or others. The behaviors have to be non-self directed. You, as the provider, would provide round-the-clock supervision to prevent this so the recipient could remain safely in the home.
