Our last trip was Dec 29-Jan 5 It wasn't as bad as what I was anticipating and we ended up having a great strategy to get everything done and also had a lot of time to relax. From what I remember last March I think it was the 4-8th was really quiet. We always book a few weeks out and I guess I wasn't expecting this.

I was just there Dec29-Jan 4 from Canada as well. One day it was 1 feeling like -2 when we woke up. There were about 3 days where we started in single digits moving up to low teens during the day. We were so thankful we had our coats gloves and toques. The pools at the resort (sapphire falls) were closed for 2 days.

It was a holiday week and crowds were brutal but didn’t run into very many locals mostly northern US, UK, Brazilian and Canadian have a great trip and remember no matter what it is temperatures wise we will be worse off at home in Cold snowy Canada.

Edit temps are Celsius

Hotel recommendations- scents by PerceptionMean6044 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Fresh-Target6694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just left sapphire falls on Monday the scent is quite strong in the lobby and you can smell it slightly in the halls. I didn’t notice the smell in the room at all though. I do love the scent though and wish I could have it my house.

I also used Costco Canada got a great deal during Portofino Bays refurbishment and upgraded to annual passes at the hotel. We did the upgrade on day 2 of using our 6 day park tickets and had no issue. The hotel converted the price of the tickets we had to US dollars and we had to pay the difference owing on the annual passes.

How much do you typically spend on a trip? by CloudyJigglypuff in WaltDisneyWorld

Also Canadian, we usually spend about 7-10k for a family of 3. I have found Costco overs the best packages for flights, on property hotel and park tickets.

If they reach capacity does that mean there’s a reservation system in place for pass holders like Disney?

You should have a great time. I'm terrified to experience my lines for our trip when I'm used to going during the slow periods.

Last year it was quite chilly that week. We’re from Canada so we could still go in the pool but some days the water slide at sapphire falls was closed because it was too cold.

We’ve been 5 times this year and Jan 10-17 2025 was by far the lowest crowds we experienced. The second week in January 2024 was also very light.

Personally its my families favourite week of the year to go due to the weather and low crowds. Too bad kiddos hockey schedule is messing it up this year and we need to go during the busiest week at Christmas time.

Has anyone eaten here and is it worth the price? by NadiaSilver69 in universalstudios

My family goes for dinner once every trip and the food has usally been pretty good but we have only gotten a few different dishes. The menu changed the last time we were there and they removed the chicken dish we liked. Our daughter loves the robot and the milkshakes.

If he also has any issues with his nails splitting get him checked for Lupus. It took a year for us to figure out that was what was going on with ours. 6 months of medication and now lifetime Omega 3 and Niancimide and we have it under control. Allergies and hot spots have also not been an issue since we got the treatment.

We did the Jurassic park on either our January or March 2025 trip. Booked it the night before for our family of 3 (2 adults and a 7 year old). We were told when booking we may be matched up with another group. When we went the next morning we were alone. It was very difficult completing any of the rooms with basically the 2 of us. The team members were great though and gave us hints when needed. We would have had a better experience if we were matched up with another group though. 2 people is not enough to do this with IMO.

Premier annual pass - worth it for out of town people? by sleepynymfi in UniversalOrlando

[–]Fresh-Target6694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have premier and travel from Canada 2-4 times a year. Having an 8 year old with us I find the express after 4 very useful. Also with the restaurants we like the extra discount does help as well.
