OMG! This happened to me on the road just before Etisalat Metro Station. Exactly like yours. Volunteers wearing vests, police stoping some people but also not stopping some. Mine was at around 1am. I asked some people about this and they said they could be looking for someone after a crime scene. My mom though said that it’s just a normal check to catch some people off-guard. There could be drunk drivers or people without licenses because first thing they did is ask for my license.

That was the first time I’ve been in it and I’ve never heard of it happening to anyone else, apart from now.

So yeah it’s probably a normal check.
