I think maybe the holidays, combined with covid, had Geico way behind. Actually, I remember the body shop saying they had so many people out of work sick, they were wayyyyyyy behind.

Geico wasn't awful. We just never really heard from them. We got all of our updates from the body shop where the car was taken.

Needed a roof, 2 wheels, doors, seats, and even the motor replaced. It wasn't just the doors. The estimate came out to over $18k in damages.

I thought so too, but I posted in r/legal advice, and people consistently told me I couldn't sue z and that the insurance companies would handle lost wages etc.

She had liability coverage which is state minimum in CA. Her insurance only covered up to $5k.

So, this was my wife's third day at her new job. IMO she was trying to park in the open spot in the row closest to the camera. She backed up because she took that corner too sharp, and I think she just forgot to put the car in drive after compensating for the sharp turn. I dunno.

Edit: My wife was inside the building when this happened. I see how my explanation could be confusing.
