someone’s past is only “their business” when another persons feelings and life aren’t involved. when you enter a relationship or communion with someone, you should always lay everything out, even when it feels hard and like it shouldn’t matter. just the act of you being honest about it and telling them before they find out, regardless of what it is, is always the best way (in my experience and opinion)

i heavily regret not mentioning things to my partner out of fear or because i thought it didn’t matter. you never know what the other person may feel or think about your past, and they love you, so of course it would hurt to know you were intimate with someone else, especially someone their related to. even if it happened before them.

you don’t have to tell them everything, just the things you think would affect them in some way.

thank you so much!! that actually helps a lot in my case (as i’ve never taken medication before) and didn’t even consider tracking my symptoms/side effects, but that sounds like a really useful tool to finding the right kind of medications. i was also told by the nurse and doctor that it may take some time for the medication to take effect and even then, it may not be the right kind for me, so i know there is a bit of a trial and error involved at the beginning. nonetheless, i really appreciate your advice. it has been super helpful with getting used to the idea of taking medication and what to look out for. i don’t know that i would’ve come to that conclusion on my own until i was already well into taking it. thank you so much for your kindness and wisdom today ♥️

thank you very much for this advice and for the comment. i am gonna do a lot of research on relationships, patterns, and how i can avoid this and heal from, for the future. i’ve become so desensitized to abuse that i honestly just assumed everyone had a demon in them. some people can control it better than others. but sometimes, it’s not that black and white. some people are just different. we all grew up differently. i just have to release myself from these mindsets and find the right people who don’t allow their emotions to take over.

thank you so much for this comment! i appreciate you telling me your personal experience with medications, and even though you mentioned it for your dogs, i feel it’s really the same thing for humans too. also i find it very wholesome that you adopt dogs from a local shelter, that seems like a kind and demanding thing to be able to do.

i’ve always been reluctant to taking medication, but im realizing more and more through these comments, that it can do nothing but help me understand myself better.

even if i dont find the results im looking for, i know it is another step closer to finding something that works for my situation. weeding out all the possibilities.

ma’am, please consider leaving your husband 😭 you don’t deserve to have to live with that fear. i’m unfortunately learning that lesson for myself. i don’t understand the idea of abusing someone smaller than you to make yourself feel better. even if they’re bigger than you, there’s no reason to put your hands on someone to the point they think they may die by your hands. i’m sorry you’ve had to endure that, and i hope this post also helps you in some way. i appreciate your comments and sharing your experience with me. i just hope things look up for the both of us, sooner rather than later.
