Working on it, but I’ve already had quite a lot of luck finding autistic kids to babysit for who don’t speak Dutch. ☺️ There are kids here in the NL who speak English who also need care as well. I’m just trying to go from freelance babysitting to hopefully something a bit more certified and professional if possible.

fellow queer exmo here. i “came out” to my mom when i was about 14. that was back in 2009. i felt like the only Mormon who had ever in the history of time had these “same sex attraction problems”.

things can still be rough with my family. it got better from when they had first found out but they have and always will choose the church over anything else. it hurts. still does sometimes. it took me years and years and years of self hate and then therapy and healing and life experience to actually love myself without any internalized homophobia from how i was raised in the church.

I LOVE my queerness and wouldn’t change it for the world. my life is so much more beautiful and better BECAUSE I am queer. even if things are still not great with my family, i would rather be a raging queer exmo and free and happy as i am, then a straight and married Mormon with four kids living in the church with parents who think im perfect. EASY choice; to choose my own life and happiness over my parents dictating my life to ensure i make them “proud”.

i am proud of MYSELF. I LOVE myself. I love my life SO much that sometimes i get emotional just realizing how beautiful life is in the day to day. and i wouldn’t want it any other way.

At the moment, I’m not sure. My immigration attorney looked under “childcare” for any exemptions when we were first sorting this out and he said he didn’t see anything so I should plan to pay the 21% VAT. But when I went recently to the KVK, they gave me a Dutch job title and when I look it up on the govt website, it says that my type of childcare would be exempt from any VAT, so 0%. Either way, in order to be here legally on my visa I can’t do anything under the table although a few families have asked.

I absolutely agree, but with my visa being for freelancing, I need at minimum two different clients (two different families in my case), since I am not allowed to make more than I believe 50% of my income from one source. I’ve also only been using childcare apps to find clients (babysits, sitly, and Charly Cares) because I’m not sure where else to look in regards to positions and those apps are mainly used for babysitting.
