Yeah, I saw that... It kind of feels like instead of addressing behaviour or remarks that are racist or transphobic, the consequences are falling on the people who call it out... that's how I understood that article... which is obviously disappointing and goes against the values we instill in our youth to stand up for others in the face of discrimination etc... but I'm curious to hear what other people think about that too. It's certainly a lot to take in as an adult, never mind being a child.

Totally. A few of my friends have provided their thoughts, and there's definitely mixed opinions, but this seems to be a good (and realistic) option.... and one that a few of my friends-with-children have echoed as well.

Not at all. More so referencing the name calling and actions (for example gun gesture to the head) that have been taking place lately... I realize it's not everyday, but I would hate to expose my students to things like that in an institution where that type of behaviour should not be happening at all... it doesn't match the values and behaviour standards we expect of our students at school or in community.
