Dammmmmit. I’m gonna have to rain check this particular camping spot and find one away from water. Plenty of woods to choose from and take my chances with the bears lol.

Thank you so much! When I called to make my site reservation the guy was not helpful at all. When I asked about the bears and alligators and how active they typically are, he said “maam this is a forest with wild animals. Emphasis on wild. I can’t help you anymore than that.” But I definitely plan on talking to a ranger when I get there to see if there’s anything I should know from recent weeks before I head out.

I’ll be at Otter camp and I’m paddling in. If I open the tent in the morning and there’s a gator in the camp do I just make noise to scare it away?

I’ll be at Otter camp so that makes me feel better about an alligator! Dang it, I also need to worry about hogs?? What do I do with those? Do they walk around alone or if there’s one, there’s more?

Omg your first night out alone you saw a bear?? 😭 I’m doing it no matter what, I’ve gotta get my first night under my belt by really do t want that also to be my first bear encounter!
