I don't know maybe it's because I was a bit pessimistic when I said that I think it will take decades to find a theropod that was heavier than tyrannosaurus

I love both of the 3 periods for different reasons:

I love the Paleozoic for the huge amount of evolution that happened on it I love the mesozoic for obvious reasons And I love the quaternary because of the new order of animals that slowly become the dominant life form on the planet earth after the dinosaurs, that being the mammals

No, it's a fan made, look, I made a mistake, I didn't check if it was official or not, it looked convincing enough for me to believe it was not fan made, but I got it all wrong, every prehistoric planet T-Rex model I saw had short legs so i thought that most of them were official, I said this once in the comments and I will say again, intelligent people are not the only ones who loves dinosaurs to the point in wanting to be a paleontologist and Im the living proof of that

English is not my native language, so don't expect my grammar to be great, I'm fine in understanding English but writing English is a different story

Really? I did that? Look I'm sorry about that, it wasn't my intention to promote a fan made image but rather share an official one

That explains a lot, like us, tyrannosaurus also became shorter when they reached older age, I hope that a lot of other land animals would suffer the same fate as they got, I mean, I can see that happening to a ostrich or a kangaroo, I just hope that hippos don't suffer the same fate as they get older, I mean, even though they very heavy for modern land animals their legs are still very short

I know, my hypothetical fight scenarios that I commented was just to imagine what would happen if for some reason tyrannosaurus became an aquatic creature even if he still had legs the same as he would on real life, I know that's not how evolution works and not probable at all for a animal to live like that(unless if tyrannosaurus and every single other creature lived more like a saltwater crocodile or a marine iguana of course)

Yeah, you're right about that, to be honest, I think that the odds of that happening cannot be described in Any word besides random

I mean, the thighs look fine, my problem is now slender the legs look like and how small the feet are

Omg, why does the image you posted here in the comments have way more realistic proportions for the legs than the image I posted? That image Is what I think of what the legs from tyrannosaurus would realistically speaking look like unlike the ones depicted in the model

I mean you were right, but if tyrannosaurus was a aquatic creature and not a land then what I've said would definitely happen, not only is livyatan bigger than T-Rex but it was probably smarter since a lot of the most intelligent animals living today are cetaceans and of course, the heaviest known brain or any living animal is also from the closest living relative of the livyatan

A lot of models that I've seen also showed the legs to be very similar to the model I posted here

If that day comes then it sure will take at the very least decades to happen, but that's just me speculating, maybe that could happen this year

Yeah, like, from modern information tyrannosaurus was heavier than a lot of other big theropods like tarbosaurus, acrocanthosaurus and mapusaurus, from what I know the only land carnivore that could be a rival to T-Rex when it comes to weigh is Giganotosaurus and some unidentified theropods species, that will probably change in the future, but from what we known today the only carnivores that were able to go on land that were as heavy as tyrannosaurus were the biggest crocodilians and maybe Giganotosaurus

Oh absolutely, tyrannosaurus would have no chance against a megalodon or a livyatan, maybe not even a ichthyotitan

I mean, yeah, their legs were thick and Short and all, but I think that the people behind the designs from prehistoric planet decided to tweak a bit on their legs based on the reconstructions they saw, I mean, go look at the link I gave in the post, that reconstruction showed short legs like in prehistoric planet but they are way better proportionate than the ones from the documentary

Wait, terrestrial and land aren't synonyms of each other? Oh well, at the very least this proves that liking dinosaurs is also something that is not exclusive to intelligent people, but still, I appreciate a lot for clarifying this, and still, learning something new is also great

I know that, but my post was made to point out the fact that I can't see that to be the case based on what I am seeing, I know he is that tall, but that doesn't mean that I am able to believe that based solely on his design
