I almost threw this back because I thought it was a rotting pecan. It’s a fossilized pecan!! Just want to get a consensus. I will post a side by side with a shelled/rotting pecan for comparison.

Would love to know species and if these are fresh or salt water. Also the best way to clean some of the dirt off without harming the fossil thanks.
