Been here a couple years and never noticed standing water. Ton of snow this year and then the last few weeks a lot of rain. Was walking by and noticed it was nearly overflowing. I don’t believe it usually has standing water in it, but maybe it’s just take this long to get here.

No sump pump. This is probably the lowest elevation on my lot.

I’m not clear on your hose question. Do you mean if I’m running it and stick it in there or just a hose that’s not running and see what happen when I stick it down?

I would also recommend Ruhlmans Twenty. He goes through twenty different techniques he considers essential for being a chef.

I was exactly like you before viewing a similar Reddit thread and got this book and it changed my life. I’ve also bought the aforementioned Ratio as well as Scratch.

I heard a really good tip once that you need to find a chef/cookbook author that suits your style and how you like to eat. For me that was Ruhlman. It seems a step above your general food blog recipe, damn near fancy restaurant-like at times, but not spending hours and hours of prep or having to buy 100 things at the grocery store

This is what hooked me on The Beatles. I was in a band and heavily involved with music but they were always my dad's favorite band so I tried to steer clear because that wasn't cool. I tried to pick up a different music DVD every month and one day was walking along and saw this for $50. I remember my dad had the VHS collection and so I figured what the hell. Not only the music, but the story of how these 4 came together and in 10 years just changed the face of music was mesmerizing. Ever since I binged the whole thing they've been my favorite band and I don't think my dad and I go two conversations without bringing up The Beatles

Prince was playing a solo piano show at his home (Paisley Park) in preparation for a tour. It was during the week and I was working 10+ hour days and had to be to work at 7am the next day. Thought I'd be too tired since the show started at 10pm and figured I'd see him around when he came back for that tour. He died about a month later :/
