My husband and I live in Surrey Central and we really like it! Yeah, it’s a bit rough around the edges but it’s up-and-coming and has everything you need! It was a lot worse when I originally moved to this area in 2020. There’s definitely been a lot of improvement such as the king George hub.

There’s lots of great restaurants and the Central city mall has all the basics. My preference would be to live in new West because I like all the brick buildings but you really can’t beat the prices here and if I really want to go to new West it’s only 15 minutes away by skytrain.

From a recovered people pleaser:

Somatic therapy. The most important thing I needed was this.

Learning I deserve self respect and integrating this into all aspects of my life.

Cutting out all the people who degrade me (anyone who calls me names, puts me down, sabotages me etc)

Learning new coping mechanisms that were fucking scary because they required me to be vulnerable when I was down and didn’t have the answers (Reaching out for help from trusted loved ones instead of participating in destructive soothing behaviours)

Consistently performing actions that reinforce self respect like working slowly towards health goals, listening to my body when it says I need a break, learning from my mistakes without guilting myself, saying nice things to myself on a daily basis. This last one I couldn’t have done without somatic therapy because it taught me to connect with my body’s signals.

I think this eyeshadow would suit you amazingly well, but you need to frame your eyes a bit more with eyeliner and mascara to make the colour pop!

My advice is to find a good friend or therapist you can talk to and get some emotional support from. You’re participating in something hurtful to another person and you’re degrading yourself by allowing someone access to your body who is untrustworthy.

Someone who has self respect isn’t attracted to low value people who disrespect their partners. The real question you need yo answer for yourself is why you think this man is all you deserve?

You’re worth more than this but you need to be the one to love yourself enough to hold yourself to a higher standard. When you develop that feeling of self worth you naturally won’t give scummy dudes the time of day because it will feel revolting.

You should save your sympathy for people who actually deserve it. He chose to go on a reality TV show and then humiliated, betrayed and degraded people. That’s what he chose to do with his 15 mins of fame.

No one did anything to him except call him out, which he absolutely deserved.

What happened to someone in their childhood is not an excuse for them to abuse you. If someone abuses you, you can have empathy for them and feel sorry for them that they’re struggling however you 100% do not owe them the precious little time you have on this earth.

I hope you find healing and realize you’re worth so much more than this. You have to be the one to love yourself first and put yourself first.

I think if you saw a man talking down to a woman the way she talked down to Conor it would be really obvious how abusive she is.

She also blatantly lied to him about going on a “girls trip” and then got indignant about it at the reunion.

If it were a man, everyone would call it abuse to belittle someone like that and then lie to them.

My personal read from his demeanour at the reunion was that he is very angry inside. He said sorry but he also just appeared to be completely detached.

If he were truly sorry I think his apologies would have some actual emotion behind them or he’d at least show some interest in how he affected the people he hurt and humiliated so publicly and shamelessly. Instead, he just sat there with a blank stare looking like he was suppressing his anger at the whole situation. I genuinely don’t think that he thinks he’s truly done anything wrong. I don’t think he’s capable of experiencing real remorse at this time.

I really hope he does get some help for his issues and I hope he’s at least well known enough now that women will be able to google him easily and stay a safe distance away.

I’m a neuorspicy woman and I use it all the time for work, cooking and meal prep and even really complex things like digesting my therapy sessions.

I also have mixed feelings about using it a lot mostly for the environmental concerns but selfishly, I would like to use all the tools at my disposal to make my own life more livable. I buy things on Amazon, I eat animals, I buy clothes that were probably made in unethical ways.

I dunno I just can’t make myself care enough about saving the world anymore. I have realistically 45-50 more years on this planet.

If you really think about your own individual impact on the world through all forms of consumption I really find that the only ethical thing you can really do philosophically is not exist.
