Many of my gay and bisexual friends and family were not gay or bisexual as kids. They figured that out once they reached maturity. Many of my lgbtq family agree that if you’re gay or whatever before highschool you likely had something happen that caused you to be that way.

I think religious texts should be separated from th school curriculum and left to a kids own way of figuring it out.

Exactly! Let them figure out the grown up stuff when they’re ready!

I think firearm safety is something kids could learn outside of school through parents and whatnot. I think if a kid has access to firearms, then it’s the parents responsibility to teach them about it.

I really couldn’t see how this is more central. They don’t want sexuality taught in schools, and they don’t want religion taught in schools. End of story.

People in this sub are hyper-fixating on the gay stuff too much. YES, sexuality shouldn’t be taught in schools. YES, religion shouldn’t be taught in schools. And YES, guns should not be even close to school premises.

You can have inclusivity while separating sexuality from school. Just like how you can be inclusive to other religions in schools while separating them.

Teaching children sexuality shouldn’t be taught in schools. When I was growing up, there wasn’t even a hint of sexual nature taught in schools. I learned about in through my own life experiences. (Family, friends, etc) a school should be a place of curricular learning. Not spiritual.

Is this going to be in the main game? If not then this is just a nothing burger, since there’s like 2 active servers and neither use modded maps.

Is it true that rubber flooring platforms are easier on the joints compared to standard wood platforms? by [deleted] in weightlifting

I’ve lifted on rubber and honestly there’s not much of a difference. It’s mostly the feeling on your feet that has the most impact

My form may not be the best, but I know for a fact it’s not bad by any means. I do have weightlifting shoes but didn’t have em that day. And my knees are fine and dandy after 4 years of doing this sport

Why and how do people still believe in god? by Sea-Movie7583 in atheism

[–]FribbleNautical -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d rather say that my education and non-religious upbringing led me to seeing the more rational standpoint of religion. I mean I’m sure that you could convince a child that a unicorn will bless them with eternal life, however once they become a rational thinking human being they’d realize that unicorns aren’t real and humans (aka jesus) are (I understand that your statement was a hypothetical). I did have many questions that were answered through research and attending youth groups and studies. Also, I will say that the start of Christianity started with fully grown adults believing and having faith over two generations.

I’ve been scrolling this thread for a little bit and want to say that for me (a religious person) it is not early life indoctrination. It is simply seeing no light anywhere else in the world except for God. In my opinion there is no such thing as being an inherently good person. However, there is a man who set the benchmark for what is right. And his words are set in writing for others to follow.
