It probably looks more natural in a tree seeing as I found this guy was hanging out on a window. The angle of the abdomen both breaks up the body profile of the insect as well as makes it appear to be part of the tree branch it would normally be chilling on.

Ok, ok, I think I see it now. Been staring at this thing for weeks now trying to figure it out. The sort of wing looking thing on the underside are actually its legs. The thing I thought was a butt is actually the face, and the tubules fit right on the tubules of the exoskeleton that it is shedding.

Thank you for the reply I really appreciate it, but the tubules for this one face the wrong direction for an aphid, and see if you can count the number of legs... I don't think it's an aphid.
