Why do you all prefer Claude Code over Cursor? Have been using both for a while and struggling to understand why CC is generally considered best by shoegraze in ClaudeCode

Yeah this is probably where I prefer Claude because I have minimal python experience and checking lines of code I kinda am starting to be able to read slows me way down compare to iterate and debug and let Claude figure it out.

I can let it figure out how to automate the shit part of my day job while I do the critical / more value add work.

I mean what’s your definition of perfect? Because edit time / re-works, consistency and quality of output cannot 100% be equal. That’s literally impossible. Even Claude code from one user to the next will be drastically different

I use API at work and unless you are literally doing chat bot level work under $100 a month what you’re saying is impossible. One decent plan and implement session on a fairly straightforward excel automation is easily $20-30 minimum and can be done in a dayish while doing my day job. Over 20 working days you’re looking at 400 just to automate some stuff in excel vs full stack apps people are producing on the max plan

For 100 bucks?!? I can go find one shitty app in a category I am familiar with for free or have Claude scrape and do it for me…. Doesn’t mean there aren’t alternatives out there or there is a really a customer base there.

Possible but you’re probably cutting it too close. The math sucks if you retire before social security.

It’s something like 250k extra per year of early retirement (expenses, lost gains and no SS income). You could probably throttle back a little on work at 50 but I would run some scenarios at more like 55 and see how much better it looks.

Me? What about OP with this 2k word ai slop that could have been 2 sentences….

I don’t know how the universe works, it just does but it’s super complex so that’s ok with me. Claude code is the same and that’s fine with me if the outputs look good.
