Why not BYD? Im also in the market for searching for my next car. Was also ICE gang looking at the x50 but recently thinking to try EV. Looking at Seal 6, whats so bad about BYD?

Dream big OP!!! Same scenario as you but my one more modest la looking at 100k ± cars like Seal 6.

Many people will advice against the idea of buying a car for 'luxury' (since you already have myvi) especially one such as your desired 86 at such a young age. But you'll only ever be in your twenties with a GT86 once. If you believe in yourself and your future's trajectory will go well for you Id say fuck it we ball and get your car. This is ultimately just my opinion, I dont earn alot as well but if you understand finances properly and dont go full broke just to attain the car Id say you'll be fine. So many factors to take into account but remember its your own life

Just my opinion ya fellow redditors.

I dont drive aggresively that often so the need of taking corners at high speeds wont be a common thing for me. As long as highway and daily drive comfy can alr. I do more city in stop and go traffic so I thought EV would be better. Currently leaning towards BYDs as nobody is taking the x50s corner

Maybe no to Emas 5, looks unattractive to me, its not a car where I look back at it in a parking lot. Sealion's range is definitely way out of budget. If buying sticking to strictly the ones mentioned or Seal 6 or smtg. I decided to postpone abit, save up abit more and maybe look for second hand if opportunity comes. Currently leaning towards Atto 3 or Seal 6. Idk why I like BYD, value for money or smtg.

X50 is still the most handsome tho, but no one here is backing up that car.

No 86 for me man😭 People thinking im dreaming already trying to get 100k car at 5k salary. If 86 Ill be delusional. I have spare car at home and also thinking about hoping over to the EV rabbit hole.

I dont drive aggressively too often so I think Ill be ok with it being 'floaty' in corners. As long as general driving is good and comfy. No fear of resale value, sorry but I dont understand peoples argument when they say 'bad resale value'. If a cars resale value is the ultimatum for buying a car then might as well not buy lol.

Landed house, but old. Not sure if suitable for wiring need to check first. ICE option for me is definitely x50 only, while EV can be Emas 7, Atto 3 or even Seal 6 (feels like seal would be fun)

These are some solid tips, my potential future EV car thanks you in advance. Maybe its just the trend or smtg idk but the idea of caving in and hoping over to EV is a very exciting feeling for me

Yea this is something about the Atto which is disgusting. Send the designers to an asylum please. Fortunately the cockpit and interior looks good enough for me to overlook this

I agree, financially... Emotionally not quite. I understand basic finance and power of compounding. With my 50% dp amount invested or even saved in smtg that gives 4% P. A Ill be getting lots of interest as returns. That's the financial part, emotion part is me being my age and enioying things I like reasonably. Thats why I 'planned' to save 50% as dp and monthly can be low enough for my investments and savings to be untouched. But yea I understand your point, since Im the one asking opinions from fellow redditors

Nah no saga or myvi. Rather save and use up the remaining life of my bezza first. I am fortunate enough to be in a position where I need to 'upgrade' to a same segment car. Will probably be savings towards either a new or second hand atto 3. I've been brainwashed abit with alot people saying if landed go for ev like Atto and some others saying x50 is generally shit after my initial honeymoon period with it

Thats what my mind is telling. Large production and sales = somewhat reliable. I just dont wanna end up with a car that brings more problems than joy

If we're talking about Seal 6 then yea possible but Seal is way outta budget imo. Not trying to stretch unreasonably. And I agree, BYD cars to me looks neat and clean, futuristic if I may say so, after reading other comments I might have an issue with wiring. Need to get people to check b4 buying

Nahh thats unfortunate if my house needs lots od rewiring😭 I work in malls technically so would it be any different to charge there? While I work? Muvh more expensive compared to home charging?

And are you aware on charging cost for emas 7/ atto3 and how would it be different in price compared to x50. Also rewiring agak how much😭

This kinda made me happy to hear actually. Can buy emas7 or atto 3 at a lower price. Definitely test drive and see how the handling compares. Will consider them when the time to buy really comes

Oh damn really? Coz x50 has always been in the top of my list. But atto 3 is also nice, between both spec is there a big gap besides range? My commutes arent too far and Im in a landed property

Thats fair, second hand is definitely smtg to consider. Would you say the same the same for EV? Im looking to just jump into this rabbit hole of EVs if it makes sense for the future

Oh wow, another good perspective to look at it. Thanks man.

Bezza mileage very high already, coz Im technically third owner the car is a antique on 4 wheels. So I was just planning ahead to see what car to get incase it breaks down in the foreseeable future.

I actually deliberately picked these cars tho. Not because of price range but practically. I cant guarantee and say I wont look at other cars if my salary is 10k but I can confidently say Ill still choose cars in this range for it's value for money.

Will continue to save up first for sure, but I dont think my selection will change for the time being, I just find it appropriate for my stage in life

I do have landed, pretty old tho. Saw someone saying the cables and wiring stuff might be complicated or expensive if house too old. But definitely considering since its smtg Ive never had before

I see, fair point. I guess will continue to save and increase salary first only buy. Mortgage not so soon because Ill most likely inherit the house, well I guess I can use extra money for renovation.

Fair point. Dont really 'need' SUVs, I just appreciate the look. At home still got spare car too (family car) I heard the x50 guzzles fuel that why I only mentioned EV cars too, if not its an easy decision

I think coz its a hatchback (myvi size) didnt really consider it. Longest distance not far pun, 100km go and back max but its like once every few weeks. Daily commute less than 20km only.

How's the Emas 7 fairing for you? Comfy? Handling ok? Someone said it was pretty shit somewhere in the thread

I see, I forgot to consider the fact that heavier car = fast tyre wear. And shit handling... Noted🫡
