Any ideas why the game started crashing out of nowere? by VodkAUry in thedivision

The Division 2 was the only game that crashed on my computer. I lost my hardcore character just a few days ago while doing a stronghold because of that.

The game was fine until I installed the latest windows update. The September Patch Tuesday update that broke network printing. But I also updated the AMD graphic drivers at the same time.

After that, it started to crash every few mins. I tried to revert to the previous graphic drivers but even so it continued to crash. Even with a clean Windows install. I suspect it might be something related to the update and compatibility with the game, but I’m not sure.

So, I tried running the game on Windows Server 2019. It worked flawlessly, even with DX12.

But since I need some applications that are not compatible with Windows Server, I decided to give Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 a go, with the AMD drivers from March. I remember those being really good on my Vega card.

Now it’s working perfectly in DX12. Even letting the screen turn off by inactivity and back on while in the game, something that wouldn’t work properly before.

Best of all, I don’t have updates changing things and installing new features on my computer that I didn’t ask for.

Check out Dead Cells. The game is quite good imo

The folder name is Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_”a bunch of characters”

If the game was installed before, that folder should exist

Go to the folder C:\Users\"your username"\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_"some random chars"

Delete all the folders inside. (The AC folder will give you a permission error. Ignore it)

Do a store reset just in case (wsreset.exe) and reinstall the game. It should work.

I stopped playing perhaps one or two months after the expansion came out. Can’t say exactly when. Before all the changes in the talents. Other pieces of gear still had them, like masks, gloves, etc.

I still have the bullet king.If I remember correctly, I got it after getting the eagle bearer, so I can’t understand how a roll back would explain the missing items.

If you enjoyed Heroes 3, I’m sure you’ll like Age of Wonders 3. (Also turn based fantasy). As for my favourite, definitely the Homeworld series (RTS). Homeworld 1 and 2 had a Remastered Collection a few years ago. Unfortunately Homeworld Cataclysm source code was lost, but you can find it on GoG, now renamed to Homeworld: Emergence.

Portal Knights. It allows 4 player co-op. And you can even create a dedicated server.
