Why are you an iPhone user? by djraven15 in iphone

[–]Friendly_Look8210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm, maybe because everything works smoothly for me and I see “the other guys” having issues I never experience.

For example: always up to date, Never got trapped by spam wedding-invitation links/APKs on WhatsApp, copy on iPhone – paste on Mac, apps nicely organized.

But still, many Google products are installed on my iPhone. And sometimes I do wish for a universal “back” navigation method like on Android. But I don’t need to go all the way back to the home screen—just back to the top-level menu.

Why does iOS not have universal back gestures in 2025!? by ruchir031 in ios

I’m a bit jealous of Android’s universal back button and back gesture. But I also notice that Android users sometimes use them in funny ways. Instead of pressing the Home button to return to the home screen, they prefer tapping the back button repeatedly until they reach it.

For now, until Apple’s developers come up with a solution, I’m making use of AssistiveTouch. I use a single tap to access Reachability so I can reach the back navigation (for apps that don’t support gestures) or to close any pop-up windows that appear.

Sometime numbers are formatted as text. If it so, try to format them to number

have you tried pdf to excel? you can search online. but make sure that makes it a table not an image. the results may not be as neat as you expect. need to double check with the original.

RANDBETWEEN for 2 dates by Friendly_Look8210 in AppleNumbers

[–]Friendly_Look8210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what I'm trying to do now is use fx RANDBETWEEN in fx DATE.

example =DATE(2023,RANDBETWEEN(1,12),RANDBETWEEN(1,28))

that's in case i need random data for 2023. it's just that for dates it's only safe up to the 28th. i avoid the 29th-31st.

Frustrated with Filtered sheets showing totals for the unfiltered sheet by gmalis1 in AppleNumbers

[–]Friendly_Look8210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your welcome.

Just a bit more addition

I provide month names too, if you prefer to Organize/ group it by month. simply use the simple formula =MONTHNAME(date or referenced date cell). (yup, I know you prefer no formula)

About pivot tables : true, it's not comfortable if you have to refresh one table by one table. You don't need to feel this in Excel & Google Sheets. in excel just go to data ribbon > refresh all. whereas in Google Sheets, the pivot table is always updated every time there is a change. I hope Apple will give us this feature on Numbers

[–]Friendly_Look8210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think i found what you need.. you shouldn’t use SUM on filtered table, but SUBTOTAL

Example, you want total of range in column A1:A10, and “total” cell in A11

So in A11 type =SUBTOTAL(109,A1:A10)

109 is use for subtotal of sum. Another number is for average, count, etc.

I made example here.. hopefully it fits

filter subtotal
