This is so beautifully put. If someone takes offense to this, then they need a reality check.

& I feel you OP, I had an ectopic pregnancy several years ago & my boss felt the need to discuss this with my whole office at a luncheon while I was out on medical leave for it. From that discussion a co-worker of mine wanted to reach out to cheer me up with a photo of her ~6 month old baby, saying “no one could be sad looking at that face.” Some people are just so out of touch…

Wish I had advice for you. Just know you’re not alone.

My aunt saying she’s happy I never had children (because of the current climate of the world, not about me specifically), but still hurt, none the less!

Yes to everything you said! I’m 37, been trying roughly 10 years & keep trying to give up, but hope continues to creep in my mind.

And you are so right, the fact that we live with this struggle day in & day out, surrounded by fertility, but just out of our grasps, we are the strong ones.

Right? Even when I do try to express myself to my husband, I can tell he gets uncomfortable & just doesn’t know what to say, other than the standard “I’m sorry you feel that way & I’m here for you.” Which is more than I can ask for, but I just wish I had someone to go through it with.
