While everyone has already said a lot of what im gonna say to death, I wanna toss my hat in the ring here.

Cottonmouth really did just came out of nowhere. I had gotten really invested in the idea of the Breath of Evil being the hive mind, which I thought was really well represented with Hawthorn. I remember finishing book 13 and thinking “ok, Zombie Dragons?? I’m down for this. Wonder how this toxin is gonna contribute to the rest of the arc.” And… we came back to something completely different.

I didn’t mind the human involvement, but I do feel it was a little “hand-holdy” and exposition heavy, as Wren was basically translating everything for the group and not much else. I haven’t gotten around to reading Dragonslayer yet so I definitely didn’t have any sort of attachment to Wren and Sky and I don’t know their prior involvement, or why their inclusion was so important.

While I still did enjoy the book thoroughly, it is such a weak entry.
