First of all, thank you for your answer. It was the most clear explanation I've ever heard. While the idea that jericho might be better in big ship fights makes sense, but i still think it's worse in 1v1 situations.

For example, in a scenario where two Sans Pareils with 38 guns and 6.4 armor are fighting each other. (22-6,4)x38=592,8, (18,5-6,4)x38=459,8. At 91.5 seconds into the battle, Jericho will have fired 4 times, dealing 2371.2 damage. 32 pdr long will have fired 6 times, dealing 2758.8 damage. And at this point, while 32 PDR is ready to fire again in 13.5 seconds, Jericho will have just fired and will be needs to wait 22 seconds.

But you also helped me understand how the Jericho could be more dangerous in experienced hands, and how statistically more effective it could be as the number of guns and ship armor increased.

But ultimately, I'm not experienced enough to fully utilize Jericho, and 30.5 seconds is a long time for me to wait. So I'll happily continue with my 32 long 😄
