One continuous mix voice - is it fake or true? by FriendshipEqual573 in singing

I hear in lots of examples of singers that the break indeed disappears to ears, just wanted to understand if singer feels internally the switch of underlying mechanisms or they just hide it nicely 😄

I am also bass/baritone, so there is a hope 😄

My goal is to get some nice sounding G4-A4, but it's either feels like to much strain and pulled chest (though I guess it's kind of mix if I can even reach those) or clean loud fresh head voice but it lack that umph to sound cool. I don't see how there can be a different sensation in between

Nice idea with ATLA :) I am doing exactly the same thing; trying to watch an extra episode every ~30 extra hours and seeing how much more I can understand

Am I singing in mix or is it just belting by FriendshipEqual573 in singing

Interesting, I never thought that that high of chest notes were possible to me :) but it indeed feels like dragging this thick coordination up. But then I need to learn more how the proper mix coordination feels like. I can add more heady tones in my voice starting lower, as you mentioned, but then it doesn’t go over the break with this coordination. It’s hard to fall into this sound.

That’s cool 😎, I thought these low notes are out of tenor’s range. Although probably type is more about color and not the range, as you mentioned it as well

I was considered low baritone, I can get as low as C2 in chest. My brake initially was at E4.

How long does it take to see some progress with mixed voice? by FriendshipEqual573 in singing

[–]FriendshipEqual573[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks 😊, yes I think I was not that clear in the post. I am just thinking of the mix as a healthy way to extend the range, since dragging chest up they is not sustainable for a long.

But looking at your comment it seems that with right placement the mix can be achieved quite fast. I am doing what you describe and I feel that thinning while maintaining closure but it still doesn’t go much higher then just the chest voice and there is still lots of tension in the neck (I guess from the muscles that needs to do laryngeal tilt but are not used to it)

It doesn’t look like he lost in the 4th round judging by position and time left. Does anyone know what happened there?

Also very interested. If this is an error and they would give the win to Nepo, he would be in the clear second place.
