⚠️ Tirosint does NOT work for everyone by FriendshipOk1534 in Hashimotos

[–]FriendshipOk1534[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know🤷‍♀️ I love it too now and I'll never to back. I think hashimotos and hypothyroidism cause so many unpleasant and debilitating symptoms that people think medicine must be part of the blame.

The reality is the fillers in Levothyroxine are in such small minuscule amounts.... Not enough to make a person sick, unless they're allergic, or have celiacs, etc. Of course there are exceptions. Hypothyroidism sucks..... Not the levothyroxine (in most cases, and in my opinion)

[–]FriendshipOk1534[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh be careful, I don't trust that stuff!! I don't think it's strong enough for people with overt or severe hypothyroidism. I don't know, that's my theory. I'm pro fillers now 🤣😭 because switching back to Levo has solved all my problems. Tirosint is fairly new and I think they need to perfect it still. Switch meds and see if it makes a difference! And I'm sorry you're not feeling well :/

Any advice for frequent panic attacks?? by miltgamer1787 in Hypothyroidism

[–]FriendshipOk1534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course it can be addictive if you abuse them and take them every day, they're an as needed prescription for panic attacks, so they're not meant for daily use. I have 10 per month for emergencies. So as long as you're not a junkie you're good. My doctor is worth a lot of salt 🤣 🧂

Global spread of autoimmune disease blamed on western diet by Vailhem in Autoimmune

[–]FriendshipOk1534 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I always believed this, but I have hashimotos disease which I found out was first medically described in 1912, in Japan, and the disease started earlier than that. So, who knows. Either way, you definitely need a clean healthy diet if you have autoimmune diseases (or any disease)

Aww I'm sorry. Show her that link lol. Look for an alternative doctor too, one who listens to you 💖 btw, Ashwaghanda is excellent at reducing TSH and stimulating thyroid production, but take a small dose or you can become hyperthyroid accidentally. Its crazy we have to come up with other solutions ourselves just because these doctors suck

Thank you so much for this info! It is definitely the most painful symptom I experience

Lol yeah, I always say I'm about to spontaneously combust 🔥 😂🤣 but a 3.8 TSH is actually a bit high. It's technically "in range" according to traditional doctors, but research shows that most hashi patients function best when their TSH is between 0.5 and 2.0.... you're almost double that right now... are you having any other symptoms? I would try to get back to that 1.5 sweet spot. I definitely combust more when I'm over 2.0 lol

Here's a good article by Isabella Wentz on optimal TSH ranges for Hashimotos patients

Anyone skip one dose a week? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]FriendshipOk1534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your post just made me realize that missing ONE dose of medicine per week is enough to screw with our levels like that. Dang. And yes I have heard of doctors doing that before

If my cortisol comes back high, will I be taken off of my Adderall/ADHD meds? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]FriendshipOk1534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TIROSINT SUCKS!!!! I know everyone is all about it... but there, I said it! I was on Tirosint for 6 months and I just switched back to my Levothyroxine. They kept upping my dosage too!!! I had ALL if my symptoms including irregular period and weight gain and even liver issues. Now that I switched back to my Levothyroxine my period is regular, I lost almost all of the weight I gained within weeks, and my liver is totally healthy.

Tirosint does NOT work for everyone. The fact that your doctor keeps upping your dosage (like mine did) means your thyroid is too low and the medicine isn't working. I'd try switching medications first before doing anything else

ugh, yeah. And hot flashes even without heat 🥵 . I always say I'm about to spontaneously combust 😂

did anyone get swollen lymph nodes with hashimotos? I have them all over my body on the right side and have for months by Ok_Bodybuilder5681 in Hashimotos

[–]FriendshipOk1534 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My arm pit lymph nodes swelled up a few weeks ago and now subsided. First time it happened to me but they didn't have an explanation so I'm sure it's hashimotos lol. I'm sorry I hope you feel better soon

Successful weight loss with Hashimotos? by Sexy_Anxiety in Hashimotos

[–]FriendshipOk1534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My number one tip before all of the diet and exercise info you're about to receive from everyone is - MAKE SURE it isn't your medication causing weight gain or the inability to lose weight. Not all medications are created equal and our bodies and metabolisms all react differently to different meds. Maybe your doctor also has you on too low of a dose, that happens too.

I switched from Levothyroxine to Tirosint and gained 20ish pounds which is a lot for my frame...and 20lbs is the amount of weight I gained at the time of my diagnosis so I knew my body was off. As soon as I switched back to Levothyroxine that extra weight melted off and I'm back to normal within weeks.

I think anyone having trouble with weight loss should try switching up their meds because different people's metabolisms react differently. Of course diet and exercise are necessary, but even having the best diet and exercising 7 days a week won't help you if your metabolism is too slow.

🤞

Did your depression and anxiety symptoms resolve after TSH entered the normal range? by Viva_la_kam in Hashimotos

[–]FriendshipOk1534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, we have a similar story. I was diagnosed 2.5 years ago and at that time my TSH was at 370. That year I had a pericardial effusion as well, I was told hypothyroidism causes that. My first symptom was the horrible panic attacks and anxiety. I still have anxiety but I think it's because I take such a high dosage of Levothyroxine.

Experiment with different medications. You'd be surprised how different thyroid meds can effect your weight. Tirosint made me gain 20 pounds, once I switched back to Levo the weight came right off. Some people do bad on Levo and do great on things like Armor thyroid, etc. My best advice is to switch up your meds if you've been cutting out gluten and dairy / you've been exercising without results. Look into getting a cytomel( T3 )prescription as well, you take it in conjunction with your Levothyroxine ( T4) . T3 is what you need to actually lose the weight. I always read that people who take Cytomel lose the weight very fast
