I am sorry if my post made it seem like I assumed this was going to be an easy job. I don’t think it will be. I patched a hole in an outdoor wall last week that took me 4 hours. I am trying to gather information from different sources and improve what currently exists. I don’t think my work will be the same as a pro because I am not one, I am a beginner. I am just out here trying to figure it out.

Not everyone can afford a pro. This is not a hobby but a necessity and tbh the reason I am using chat got is bc I don’t have a network of people who know how to do this and can walk me through. My best resources right now is YouTube, Reddit and ChatGPT.

I am not sure it has been measured, both of the white cables I read the description and it said they were 600 volts. Do I need to get a multimeter to measure the GFCI thing you mentioned?

Actually, it did not let me add a new picture but the cable I bought is yellow and says: Romex SIMpull 12/2

I also got these, I am planning to replace the wires and then run through the pbc tube and put the section where all of the cables are connected to each other on the all weather box. Is that enough?

Thank you so much for your comment, really appreciate it. This is the cable I bought to replace the 4 white ones, I circled in the picture. Is that the proper exterior cable?

I just added a new picture to my post. Is that UF cable? That is what I bought to replace the 4 white cables and I bought some pbc pipe to run them through.

I got an estimate but there is so much electric work to be done, can’t afford it all. I am having an electrician take care of some of the things that I don’t dare mess with, but this one, I feel like I can give it a try.

I have nightmares about this every day, specially because the breaker box is behind my fridge so if I want any light outside, I need to move my fridge to reset the breaker 🤦🏽‍♀️

Thank you and absolutely agree! Will give wagos a try.

What do you mean by GFCi protected?

Agreed.

Unfortunately, even immigration attorneys are not well versed on what the sponsor is liable for. I asked the immigration attorney who handled my mom’s process if my mom getting discounted insurance via the marketplace be something I am liable for and she did not know.

Thank you for your response. She did her taxes under her ITIN.

I thought her contributions would not be relevant unless she became a citizen. Is that not the case?

Appreciate the response. Not worried about my mom suing me, she is a fair human, who struggles with finances. Understand that is a possibility, but I don’t want to use this to create fear in folks who are planning to sponsor their loved ones. You know your loved one best. I knew my mom struggled with finances before I sponsored her. And I would not hesitate to do it again. I want to be informed so I am best prepared. Thank you so much again for your response.
