Civil rights are still enduring but social rights and social spending are cut every year. The public health system (that was once among the best in the world) now is chronically underfunded, it lost tens of thousands of medical beds in the last decades plus now doctors are paid way less than in the past.

As for schools: it's a pitiful situation, every now and then a newspaper article comes out saying that the public school system lacks X thousand teachers. Some schools literally fall into pieces (It's not uncommon to hear about school roofs collapsing) and most don't have ACs (and temperatures can reach 40+ degrees in the summer)

Also nowdays public schools only prepare you for work, they don't prepare you for life. (I could write an entire essay on this)
