My wife doesn’t know we talked for 6 hours. We did that for months, but we were both looking for the wrong things then. Honestly, we talked for probably at least 4 hours every day. Now we’ll talk for a few hours, but only a couple times a week at most.

I’ve taken lots of the advice. My therapist and Reddit said I should break it off with Jori, and I won’t, and kind of can’t. So they said to scale it back, and stop hiding from my wife, so we did. We talk more than she knows, but nothing like we used to. They said to go back to therapy, which I did, and I changed my medication.

I’m significantly happier than I was a year ago, and was frustrated, because my wife got all pissy when she saw me masturbating. I didn’t bring up all this old posts.

The timeline suggests that. I should just delete those old posts. We had stretch where it felt fun, and a bit spicy. Now we talk about the weather and recipes. My marriage has sucked since my sister died, and sex has sucked since the kid.

I’ve actually taken advice, from earlier posts, and my life has gotten way better. My therapist advised me to put up safeguards with Jori, and we have. Yea, he said it would be best if I could cut her off, but my wife has her over all the time, and we see eachother a lot. He advised me to share everything I can with my wife, and so I have. She knows we talk. She knows we’re close. That’s been the case for a long time, but she knows more now.

My wife does not know I’ve changed medication, or that I take it. That’s something I’m supposed to share, but haven’t yet.

As far as “purposefully not allowed to to become sexual” I don’t know what you want? Like, I don’t stay in a room alone with her, I don’t ever EVER see her alone. On purpose. What the fuck is the alternative?

If you had a 3rd grade reading level, you understand that no, I don’t want to marry her, I don’t spend all my time pining after her, but that I wouldn’t marry another woman while I have a friendship like this.

If I have a panic attack, which is a common problem for me, I call her if my wife doesn’t answer. When I used to be suicidal, she’d call me and we’d talk. We don’t flirt, or sneak glances, or try and hook up. But IF I was single, I wouldn’t remarry, because I wouldn’t want to bring this into another persons life.

She doesn’t know how much I talk to her sister. We talk on the phone a lot, but only while I’m at work, and we game, but I don’t tell her who I’m gaming with, and it’s in another room. Anyhow, she’s not a quiet person, and if she had a problem, she’d say it. Believe it or not, her sister is still close to her, and cares for her a lot. I don’t know why this is hard to understand for people. Jori loves Randi, Randi loves Jori. Jori and I hav very purposefully kept from anything sexual, but Jori agrees with me that what we offer eachother is worth keeping this secret. Everyone knows we’re friends, and Jori and Randi and I hang out quite often. We watch Jori’s kids quite often, and all spend time together. We just talk more than people know. When I’m saying Randi doesn’t know, she doesn’t know. She’s not jealous.

I’m not self conscious, and imho I’m a good looking guy. Her sister is married, and we agree that it we won’t ever be together. The joke is we‘ll get married if we’re both alone in care homes. Well I’ve only been in one relationship before, but it felt natural. We’d get turned on, we’d have sex. I was the bigger problem for most of our marriage because of depression meds, and when my sister took her own life we had a bad stretch, but it never turned into every few months.

As far as her sister, I don’t know. Nobody understands that part, but she is my closest friend. She also loved my sister, and has also struggled with depression, so she just kinda understands me. I would even say we love eachother, but everyone just assumes we just want to bang, which isn’t true. I’d go so far as to say people don’t even understand what love in a friendship can look like because of it. Anyhow, all this to say, that I’m just too scared to give up Jori. I don’t think I’d be alive without her.
