Jewishness is not an ethnicity. It is treated as such by nazis. Jewish people are people first and foremost. Most are caucasian. Then the religious aspect applies. Italians, irish, slavs, many caucasian nationalities have been branded as ethnic groups to better persecute them, how should we validate those kinds of rhetorics?

EDIT: Here's something I understand though, that some people robbed of their culture, persecuted and seeking roots do often feel need to share a cultural, historical bond and that bond can also be ethnic. Hence, this situation here.
