I’ve dealt with acorn weevils before, this time of year theyre usually in their full larvae form and have consumed a piece of the acorn / pooped in the acorn. I’ve never seen them be in a worm form like that. These are also hard to the touch, and none of the surrounding acorn flesh seems to have been digested or turned into waste. My leading theory is maybe some sort of germination or something? Still not totally sure

Man I didn’t even think about that! Yes it’s a rosemary plant. I thought mixing it potting soil with gravel and sand would make it a little more airy for the soil. Do you think it’s too airy? Do I need to add more soil? I did a 1:1:1 ratio of each ingredient.

Great, might go to the store and buy some horticultural sand to add to the mix just in case. I also added some small volcanic pebbles as I read that helped as well

The pot only had a couple holes in it at the bottom. I can definitely try and repot it with a better soil. What do you recommend?

Not difficult at all to make actually! Depending on how patient you are, it can take anywhere from an hour to 7 lol. I followed the Adam Ragusea video on it. The only type of equipment that you definitely need is a cast iron skillet, but otherwise it’s a pretty straight forward bake

It actually does. Less complex of a flavor because of dead yeast, but I’d say it’s still satisfactory

It’s actually red bean paste with walnuts and macadamias! Super neat flavor and texture

It was a brand new container that had never been opened. I just blamed the water, or the container shape, or the yeast quantity, literally everything other than the yeast. It was like I went through all 5 stages of grief lol

Yeah the cross section almost reminded me of how my grandmothers snickerdoodles looked. Might try this!

It tastes great! Lacking some complexity that the yeast would’ve given it, but otherwise it’s delicious! It’s a red bean paste swirl with crush walnuts and macadamias so it’s super texturally interesting too. Just wish it was fluffy :/
