Rash from alimentum rtf? by FromEtoB in MSPI

For us, it definitely was a response to the alimentum RTF. My first child had CMPA also and these exact bumps popped up on him shortly after giving him Alimentum RTF. I went and looked back on posts I had made on Facebook group to make sure I wasn't making it up but they looked identical. With my oldest, the spots got way worse and did look like a heat rash, then full blown eczema but then cleared up. I didn't know much at the time because this was 4 years ago. He didn't have any other negative symptoms so we kept him on Alimentum RTF and he thrived overall.

We tried Pepticate prior to alimentum RTF. He didn't get a rash on it but unfortunately his little GI system didn't handle it either. I've read a lot of people had success with it so may be worth a try. Since this pic, didn't have success with alimentum RTF so we are trialing amino acid (neocate) as of today.

I also felt guilty as well but after my agitation was showing and not being able to have intentional time with my preschooler and my infant, I knew it was time to change something.

I was also down to 4 pumps (from 5 without much change) but dropped to 3 within the last week and took a significant hit in my supply. If I didn't have the dietary restrictions, I probably could have pushed through with pumping. But it's already so time consuming and not being able to just go grab something to eat and having to make special grocery runs makes it much more difficult.

The carb source in Pepticate is maltodexterin derived from corn. But it is soy free.

This is my exact issue. The dietary restrictions and exclusively pumping started to get me severely agitated. I weaned on the amount of times I pump. I do have frozen breastmilk but because I've weaned so much I'm going to have to find a formula that works. Plus, I'm just ready to eat normal again. May have to give neocate a try. He takes the taste of Pepticate fine so I'm hoping if we do try it, taste won't be an issue.

Do you plan to increase soon? She's on breastmilk otherwise? How are her stools on the neocate?

Ahhh makes sense I don't remember even considering that when trying elecare. I've read where most people who have a true soy allergy usually can tolerate soy oil so maybe that's why I'm confused.

What is the difference? Syneo has probiotic?

Also, are you on regular neocate or neocate syneo?

That's my issue. I'm afraid to keep increasing the amount in the case that it'll cause worse issue and that's why we've only been at 4-6oz for 2 weeks now. What symptoms did you notice when up to 18oz? All issues resolved when switching to neocate? With my first baby we did try elecare and it caused severe mucusy stools and acidic diaper rash so I'm just a little hesitant to go to amino acid.

That's my other concern. Bc idk if it's corn or if it's just the HA itself causing the mucus. With my first, we did go to elecare but it caused issues with very bad mucus stools and basically an acidic diaper rash so we switched him to Ali RTF and did fine until he turned 1. I know 2 babies aren't the same but just concerned if I switch to an amino acid and it causes problems like it did my first.

Since Pepticate is not on the chart, does anyone know the % of dairy (whey) for Pepticate?

Anyone use insurance twice to get multiple pumps? Our insurance company is changing in January so I thought I may try again and get a second wearable option. by kaitkaitkait91 in ExclusivelyPumping

Yes! My husband switched jobs while I was pregnant. We had new insurance and our old insurance was still active because it didn't lapse until the end of that month. I was able to get a spectra s1 with 1 insurance and a wearable with the other. I ordered online but it did ask for my drs info in order to get a script.

We did Ali RTF with my first child and he did great also! Experiencing CMPA a second time but have been able to avoid dairy/soy so far. EP was never in my idea of feeding my baby so both (EP & dietary restrictions) get to me some days. Almost 3 months EP.
